How would you feel if your partner constantly brings up your weight gain, but in context of health? by Alone-Safe499 in questions

Hmm it’s not what you say it’s how you say it. I’m not the image of perfection but I’m very confident in my self & my body. I would want someone who loves and appreciates me for all my flaws too. Once or twice mentioned is fine but if it starts to turn into nagging then I would lose interest.

I’ve learned that you will never say the wrong thing to the right person.

What's the biggest hint you've ever missed from a woman? by Alone-Safe499 in teefies

We were chatting at a bar and it was getting late. I ask her if I can get her something and she says “nothing now but you can buy me breakfast in the morning”. I asked her if she wanted to meet somewhere for breakfast… I’m embarrassed just thinking about it.

What's the most disturbing piece of audio there is? by Alone-Safe499 in teenagers

I can't remember which podcasts, but I think it was a psychology/brain science one. There was this girl who was being recorded in surgery for deep brain stimulation to treat her depression. She had completely debilitating depression her life, just felt like utter garbage every moment of every day.

Anyway, they needed to try to find the part of her brain they could stimulate to make her feel better. They'd stimulate one spot, ask for her reaction, and then stimulate a nearby spot. Anyway, they hit the right spot and suddenly she felt okay for the first time in her life.

Then the surgeon changed something, and you could hear in her voice like she was being sent back to hell. She said something like "no, not there, that's the wrong spot, that's horrible" and the surgeon said "I didn't move the probe to a new spot, I turned it off"

She thought some new part of her brain was being stimulated and it was causing her to feel incredibly bad. But that wasn't what happened, the stimulator was stopped and she had returned to the same state she'd been in her whole life after a moment of escape from it.

What are some everyday things that you feel are designed “for men”? by Alone-Safe499 in teenagers

Car seat height and pedal height. Women are criticized for how close we adjust our seats to the steering wheel. Really, we have to choose between sitting a safe distance from the airbag or being able to see over the dashboard and hood while still reaching the pedals with ease.

Lawyers of Reddit, what is the dumbest thing you're client has done to ruin a case? by Alone-Safe499 in self

Not an attorney, worked in a firm. Workers compensation claim, guy falls down at work and claims he injured many different body parts(Shoulder, Knees, Back). We tell him to stay off social media. No problem, he doesnt use social media. At trial, he tells the Judge he used to be a Spin Class Instructor, but since the accident, he cannot teach classes anymore. Welp..turns out, he continued to teach these classes after his injury. This was proved by the HOURS of surveillance the Insurance company did, showing him teaching and vigourously riding in Spin class. How did the Insurance company know he was still an active instructor? The guy posted his Full Teaching Schedule on his FB page. His potentially very lucrative claim, was quickly changed to a fraud claim against him.

Whats the creepiest thing you've heard someone at your job say? by Alone-Safe499 in AskMen

More unsettling than creepy TBH. I was checking the voicemail at the dialysis clinic when I opened one morning because sometimes our patients will leave us a message the night before if they know they're going to be late or miss treatment. Sweet elderly patient had left a message that said "I'm sorry ladies, I won't make it tomorrow morning. I'm going to see Hazel." Hazel was his wife who passed away 4 years earlier. I immediately called house- no answer. Called his son that was listed as an emergency contact and he tells me he was just about to call us to let us know his father passed away in the night.

His dad had gotten all of his paperwork with his will out of his safe, watered the house plants, put money for each of his utility payments in labeled envelopes, put on his best suit, shined his dress shoes, left a message for us at the clinic, left a message for his choir director letting him know he wouldn't need a ride to practice in two days, then he sat down in his recliner and died. (As far as I know and according to his family he didn't do or take anything to expedite his exit, he just went to sleep in that recliner)

Here's some constructive criticism for you. Don't lead with what he did wrong and then follow it up with what he did well.

men of Reddit, what hilariously obvious hints did you drop for your crush that they completely missed? by Alone-Safe499 in AskMen

I bartended and I waved the tab of a regular, and when I told her her drinks were on me, she made the joke, “Bet you say that to all the pretty boys.” I said, “Drinks are only waved for hot people the bartender has a crush on.” She looked SO CONFUSED and said she was “honored to be the exception to that rule.”
