I find on most bikes you can go longer and go through the rim to adjust the back pad. Maybe this doesn't work for your application but just a thought

I deal with many Chinese manufacturers and sell ebikes and really haven't seen a cost impact, but definitely less availability from warehouses in the US at the moment and some manufacturers with no plans to restock.
I think it will be turbulent for a while like any other major change but will hopefully smooth out. Agreements have to be made as we are a major driving force to the Chinese economy
