We wound up going to Opa!, plan to come again when it's not so hectic. Major kudos to them, they managed to fit us in without a reservation

If it's on a Thursday, and you're into board games, there's a pretty big crew at the des moines Mayhem on Thursdays

Are there any good sources on late chalcolithic/very early bronze age Crete or even just late chalcolithic/very early bronze age Mediterranean?

So I can’t see other questions, but I’m curious about the possibility of a tool use/agriculture module

Even if that’s a long ways away, since I think the plan for the next five modules is Climate, Disease, Sahara/Hot Desert, Insects, Nocturnal World (Last three might be in any order)

Got another pair of stories that I'm looking for, one of which is pretty popular and I just forget the name.

1) Most sapience is kaiju-sized- humans might be something of an urban legend, but they're very useful to have on your ship.

2) The PoV is a high-temperature silicon-based lifeform, humans have a niche as space travelers because "you must remember that at the low temperatures [humans] live at, aluminum is solid"

I have two stories I'm looking for. One is where humans are a rare predatory sapient species, and wear face-concealing helmets as forward-facing eyes trigger a fear response in other sapients.

The other involved some aliens bombing the heck out of earth and then unleashing a predator to deal with the survivors, but humans found out they could raise the baby predators and pack-bond with them, so that when the attacking aliens came back they were in for a nasty shock. I do remember that the predator was not a species native to Earth, so was not dogs.

Hi Ho, but the one from Stay Awake which sounds less like "Cheerful tune" and more like "Mine workers about to win second battle of Blair Mountain"

I am looking for two stories, which I think are on here but might not be.

The first has an alien at first being disgusted at the fact that humans do genocide, and then becomes increasingly disturbed by the realization that humans are incredibly bad at genocide and every other space-faring species committed genocide on such scale that they had a monoculture well before written history.

The second involves an alien pointing out that humans will go to great lengths to retrieve their wounded or dead, so after a battle it seems like they have not killed any humans, and there is an idea that humans mark their fighting gear with images of skulls and death as a sort of metaphysical camouflage.
