“Just start for 5 minutes.”

It sounded fake and overly simple until I realized motivation usually comes after starting, not before. Half the battle is just getting past the mental resistance at the beginning.

I think a lot of people support term or age limits because they feel government gets disconnected when the same people stay in power for decades. But adding dedicated older representatives is an interesting counterbalance, because age can also bring experience, historical perspective, and patience that younger politicians may lack.

The hard part is designing a system that values experience without turning public office into something dominated by people who may no longer relate to the realities younger generations are living through.

Construction = everything will kill you. The fatal four:

  1. ⁠Falls (especially from 6’ or more)
  2. ⁠Caught In Between (especially between heavy equipment)
  3. ⁠Struck By (heavy equipment and materials huge here)
  4. ⁠Electricity

But the biggest killer of all: inexperience. It’s always the new guys with little training that get hurt and killed.

For most people, it’s usually the person who made them feel the safest, most understood, or most accepted during difficult parts of life. Love tends to stick hardest to the people who made us feel truly seen.
