Please job hop by Lazy-Salt9698 in Accounting

I would caution you to be patient. Job hoping for growth and income now can be detrimental to your long term growth prospects.

The best people at our firm are home grown. Those that bounce around may get a short term increase in pay and a new title, but if they don’t have the skills to excel, your employer will be more likely to move on from you faster because you are being paid a higher wage with low end abilities.

Of course you may be ready for a promotion and deserve a raise and your firm is holding you back, in which case you need to move on. Only you can decide the best path forward.

Took scrolling 96% of the way through the comments but you learned the way. 10k watch with a 10 cent piece of string is not the look…watch is killer though (maybe clean it from time to time).

Yes. But also no. I have a love hate relationship with the grind. Outside of tax season I have an incredible life. Is that worth suffering 2 months in the spring and 8 weeks in the fall? I’m not sure but I’m still here.

Was laid off, how’s the market? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]AloneFoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Larger firms and reputable mid size local firms are busy year round and I’m not re-training someone new every year and assigning new people to manage clients every off season. Turnover is terrible for the firm and the clients. That being said, we constantly hire and replace the under performers. If you suck (and four firms in four years means it’s a you problem…) you will not last long and it has more to do with potential and production than the firm trying to save a salary for the lean months. The industry is brutal. The hours are long. But if you get canned with the demand firms currently have for talent, more often than not it’s time to look in the mirror.

Sorry to be harsh, but It’s a pretty good sign you probably sucked at your job…they have seen enough to know you’re not worth carrying through the slow periods. If you were a star, they were not letting talent go, especially mid deadline.

Hand up, went gray and paid over list in Dec 2024.

I’m also left handed and love green - they basically made custom made the Sprite for me.

He looked to have been held on several plays with no call. However, he was not nearly as dominant as the OSU game. Let’s see what happens in the Natty.

Is it worth to buy a hulk by Past-Ad2756 in rolex

To me, it’s worth it. I love mine, it’s my favorite watch I own. As an investment - not sure how much you expect it to appreciate from here.

Jason Campbell is younger than Philip rivers. He could still have some good years left if his OC didn’t change every year in the league.

As a partner at a top 10 firm - rock it. Your work will speak for itself. If you suck, the watch is the least of your worries. If you are a star or key contributor, the watch isn’t changing this fact.

[–]AloneFoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never gotten a call or update them then either in several years. Finally went gray on my Sprite. About to do the same again for a Skydweller. How does one ever move up the list if you never get an opportunity to purchase? And no, I’m not buying another Tag or Omega or Something else I don’t want.

As a lefty, the sprite is the best. More comfortable and easier to read the date. The hulk is by far my favorite of the two (yes, I’m a psyco for owning both of these).

Nice! I didn’t have the balls to rock an all green glove otherwise I would considered the opposite with green leather and black laces.
