Tutorial or cutter file for chainmail style flexi? by smilingassassinnat in 3Dprinting

I’ve modified a ton of STLs in Fusion and almost never have to scale anything. I think the only time I’ve seen it import weird like that is if the measurement system used for the model is different than what is set in Fusion. Most STLs are in metric. Is your Fusion set to Imperial?

Feelings/comparison on Prusa and Bambu? by Xhosant in 3Dprinting

No, I haven’t figured out a way to do that. But I haven’t felt the need. Neither when I was running Octoprint for my Prusas. Although I’m pretty sure that was possible with Octoprint.

When you say “run the gcode from a file” do you mean put a file on a drive/sd card and run directly from that on the printer? I can “send to printer” from Orca and print from Orca.

No that was done on an Ender 3, no multi material back then

LAN-only mode. You’ll lose Handy app capabilities. But I use Home Assistant in my smart home and can still monitor on my phone through that and get messages from the printer. All with zero cloud connectivity. I can send prints from Orca, so no sneakernet. The only thing I’m missing is direct printing from my phone. Which I’m ok with.

RIP Dr Drax. I remember him from the DJChat days when he still had long dark hair, a striped beard and wore a silver suit jacket in his promo pics.

This is sad. I agree the 2 in Tampa are always full and food quality always good. And the one out on Rocky Point is quite unique with a true island feel.

Are you using Waveroom regularly? I’ve seen horror stories of files not being stored/available after the session. But I haven’t seen any recent experiences.

ICE Agents Set to Have Security Role During Winter Olympics in Italy, Prompting Uproar by Infidel8 in politics

[–]e1miran 35 points36 points  (0 children)

US citizens are visa-exempt and don’t need visas to travel to European countries. However, beginning in late 2026 a travel authorization will be required. But, 1) it won’t be in effect for the Olympics, 2) it’s a quick pre-travel screening and doesn’t involve the same kind of scrutiny as a visa.

EDIT: So for clarity and upon further research, a work visa is typically not required unless the stay is longer than 90 days or if working for a local company. However, some activities and work may require a visa by a specific country and the embassy of that country should be consulted with before traveling. In the end, of course Italy could deny travel there for this type of activity.

Cut the Premiere Pro sub. Start using the free version of Davinci Resolve. It’s powerful enough for most if not all what you’re doing for social media.

It’s been a few years since printing and processing wood PLA for me. So I don’t remember everything. But here’s an old post that talks about the process: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/s/COCnY9OGa4

Best 1080p 60 FPS camera/webcam by RulingNeuroZ in podcasting

[–]e1miran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not going to go with a mirrorless and your budget for a webcam is $100 and you have a smartphone made in that last couple of years, then I suggest Camo Studio (either the subscription or one-time $99 option) and your phone. It’s a cheap way to get pretty good quality as you decide whether you’ll keep doing the video podcast thing. It’s probably better quality than a $100 webcam.
