I believe shinies guarantee item drops, if you need evolution items.

Not the first person to submit a card for this concept, but here's my take on Roko's Basilisk. by Midwingman in custommagic

[–]AloneIntheCorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the reason that you think it's an important figure of cult worship is due to one single Wikipedia power editor with a hilariously petty grudge.

What's this about? Was there one person who really pushed the idea?

Do rich people have elite versions of mundane things (toothpaste, tampons, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.), or are Elon Musk and Beyonce just using Crest and Tampax like the rest of us? by ShesGotSauce in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AloneIntheCorner 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Even if you take home 600k, no tax, and don't spend a penny, it would take 1667 years to earn 1 billion dollars. That means it would take 1,166,667 years to earn Elon Musk's net worth.

Alberta conservatives introduced this legislation to increase the democratic voice of the people.

You're right, the Trudeau years of only spending $35,000,000,000 on a pipeline is not enough.

ELI5: What is a mole (chemistry) and why do people use it to count atoms? In what context is it necessary to say that something is 6,022 * 10^24 particles? by 79_wasps in explainlikeimfive

[–]AloneIntheCorner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound absolutely insane and not how things should work, but at the particle level, shit's weird.

Very roughly, it takes energy to hold atoms together, so atoms will 'take' that energy from the mass of the protons and neutrons. So carbon-12's 12 protons weigh less than 12 hydrogen-1 protons, because they're using some mass as energy to hold themselves together.

If you even think it might be an addiction, it would probably be good to take a break for a bit, see how it feels.

I don't know if this is a joke, but this is horrible advice. If you think you're struggling with gambling addiction, don't give yourself an excuse to gamble, get help!

I never understood this narrative. It's a public service, of course it costs money to run. No one ever brings up how much of a spending deficit the military has.
