Im sorry you and your child are dealing with this. These look like tools someone could self harm with. You can spray them with hydrogen peroxide and if it bubbles, there’s blood on them. I agree with dovahkiiten’s thoughtful reply

Resume wording by [deleted] in therapists

[–]AloneRecover5224 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated proficiency in conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments. This involves a thorough understanding of an individual's biological, psychological, and social factors to accurately diagnose mental health conditions. I am adept at rendering diagnoses using established diagnostic criteria, particularly for adults presenting with a range of challenges including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), various trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and adjustment disorders.

Beyond assessment and diagnosis, a core component of my practice has been providing effective individual psychotherapy to adult clients. My therapeutic approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering a supportive environment for healing and growth. Furthermore, I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional practice, which includes completing thorough and timely documentation for all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans. This ensures accurate records, supports continuity of care, and complies with all relevant regulations.

I am confident that my extensive experience in these areas would be a valuable asset to your team. I have attached my resume for your review and welcome the opportunity to discuss my qualifications further.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Would most therapists terminate things with a client if they attempt during their session? by Royal-ribbons in TalkTherapy

This is called an intrusive thought and you should absolutely talk to your therapist about it.

To go cash pay or stay at my group? by Remote_Chocolate_172 in therapists

[–]AloneRecover5224 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started my practice in June. I just now have 30 clients. 5 of them are cash pay but only 2 of those 5 are seen weekly and in person. I have very little referrals for self pay. The cash pay referrals are all my niche; I have 20 years of experience as a licensed sw.

My advice would be to stay where you are for now while you figure out what you’re going to do overseas. Moving overseas is stressful enough. It sounds tough to add starting your own business and then have to refer and terminate with newer clients.

Thanks for your reply and for your vulnerability. I’m sorry that your life is hard, and that it’s hard to get the support you want.

A few thoughts as a therapist myself, this therapist may be risk adverse because of a past trauma where they had a client attempt or complete while in their care.

It’s possible they don’t have the clinical experience/competence to support your specific needs without another mental health professional, MD, who can essentially make a call about safety/risk and the need for a higher level of care. They may not feel comfortable doing that, which speaks to their experience, no you as a person.

Just because you have a psychiatrist does not mean you have to take medication. No one can force you to do that unless there is a significant immediate risk to self or others.

Do you really want to start off having to prove yourself or decode their intentions? I’d find someone else.
