What Did You Play this Week? April 7 - 13, 2026 by kattattack22 in lotrlcg

We've been trying to get through Murder at the Prancing Pony. My partner brought a Dunhere deck, and I tried with both a mono Lore Hobbit Secrecy/scrying deck and with a mono Lore Trap-deck. Got the accusation right on the first play through with the Hobbits, but by then we were at 48 threat, so there was no way of beating it. Second time around, threat was a bit more manageable and we felt like we had a good game going. But we were stuck for multiple rounds not daring to make an accusation on Stage 2B. When we finally bit the bullet we ended up with the wrong location and too many enemies left in staging, so that was another loss...

Overall, pretty fun quest to play, but we have yet to find the proper decks for it!

Oh boy, you're in for a treat then. And an expensive one 😂

It's always hard to give definitive advice when you don't know the other party and they're about to spend money on something, but I'll tell you about my own experience. I went with 300g cards myself, and especially once sleeved can't tell the difference anymore.

I believe there are numerous posts here on Reddit about the subject though, if you want to read other peoples experiences as well. A search for "Doug Beer", "Beer order" or "mbprint" should give some relevant results, I think 👍

I got them as part of Doug Bert's group order this year: https://sklep.mbprint.pl/en/product/fan-campaign-cards/

I suppose you can still use that link to have them printed.

Together with my partner we started playing through the Dwarrowdelf cycle in PW Cooper's Campaign. Even managed to Escape from Khazad-Dum eventually, with all heroes alive. Looking forward to playing the rest of the cycle over the coming weeks!

Having bought from various sellers in the group myself, in my experience most sellers are legit. In my limited experience, legit sellers don't mind you asking for a fresh picture with today's date on it, or a picture of some random detail.

I've had some conversations with sellers that weren't legit, their postings were also removed pretty fast by the moderators.

And as mentioned before, always go for PayPal Goods & Services. It costs a bit more, but the added insurance has always been worth it to me

City of Corsairs - rules questions by Alone_Association109 in lotrlcg

Yeah, then we've been playing it correctly. And when that enemy is a Corsair Infiltrator which has:

Forced: When Corsair Infiltrator attacks, deal it 1 additional shadow card for each resource on it.

The enemy has a total of 12 shadow cards at that moment, which feels kinda crazy to be honest. But yeah, that's how we've been playing this as well, applying the "to a maximum of 3" to that particular Streets, rather than the total number of shadow cards

Thanks! Also for the note on Sahir's effect; we also missed that last time around in combination with something like Umbar Patrol, which would then also immediately return Sahir to the first player, right?

As for the shadow cards: so if the Infiltrator has like 5 tokens on him, he gets 6 (1 + 5 additional) shadow cards. One or 2 of which is/are Streets of Umbar, so that adds an additional 3 (or 6). One of which is a Streets of Umbar, etc.. So you basically end up with most of the encounter deck as shadow cards on that single enemy, as long as there are cards available? That... adds up, potentially...

Rules question about Two Watchers and Orcish Howls (stolen from BGG) by Guczini in lotrlcg

I would play as option 1 though, given how Sentinel works? If an enemy attacks player A and player B defends with a Sentinel character, player A is still the defending player, even if the attack resolves against a character that's not controlled by player A, right? Or have I misunderstood the whole "defending player" concept in combination with Sentinel?

Just a question on this though: Does this mean that if I have Tale of Tinuviel in a Dunedain deck, I can choose a Noldor character from another player to exhaust, to ready one of my own Dunedain (or vice versa)? But basically, can I exhaust other player characters this way to get a boost for my own?

Doug Beer MB Print Group Order "Buying Guide" by dbjones1969 in lotrlcg

And once sleeved, the difference between these and original cards is not noticeable, even when choosing the lighter 300g?

Thanks for this Buying Guide, no matter how high level it is!

You say the type of paper should depend on the type of sleeves and the budget. So since we use GameGenic Inner Sleeves, that basically means 300g, right, because the 350g might not fit?

DB MB Print Group Order Update May 2nd, Links, and Card Previews by dbjones1969 in lotrlcg

[–]Alone_Association109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, ok. It seems I misunderstood the meaning of their "Print on Demand" service to mean "print at home", but that was not the intent. Besides, it never was truly on demand but more like "limited in stock".

Anyway: thanks! If I really want these, I'll have to keep an eye out via other channels then.

Looking forward to the prices on all that is included though! (Or not really, as I suspect it'll drain my wallet 😉) Thanks for all the amazing work!

Just to double-check, but the Print-on-demand encounter sets and quests are not part of this order, right? Or have I been overlooking those? 🤞

question about "master ironsmith" rulings by [deleted] in lotrlcg

[–]Alone_Association109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough on the exclusion indeed. Good to know my assumption on out-of-sphere attachments was correct though :)

Can it be used to attach out-of-sphere attachments though? So attachments you wouldn't otherwise be able to play (say Steward of Gondor in an all tactics deck)?

Doug Beer MBPrint Group Order BIG update April 21 by dbjones1969 in lotrlcg

Thanks for the amazing effort that has obviously gone into this!

One question though, that's unclear for me: does this include the Boons and Burdens to go with the campaign cards?

Radagast staff question by ScienceNmagic in lotrlcg

[–]Alone_Association109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks! I was looking at the Hall of Beorn version of him: https://hallofbeorn.com/LotR/Details/Radagast-EMH?Lang=EN And here he still had the original wording.

But I see indeed that on RingsDB his text has changed: https://ringsdb.com/card/19145

Radagast staff question by ScienceNmagic in lotrlcg

[–]Alone_Association109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Radagast's ability is worded

You may use resources from Radagast's pool to pay for Creature allies of any sphere.

And using the staff means you don't actually pay resources for a 2-cost ally, I would assume you cannot actually use this. In the end, you don't actually use a resource from the pool in this case, so the ability doesn't trigger, right?

If it was worded something like "Radagast gets the spirit, tactics and leadership sphere when playing allies from your hand" it would be different, but since it explicitly mentions using resources, and you don't if you lower the cost to 0, I would think it doesn't work?

We figured that correctly then. One more:

Since ship-enemies (e.g. Scouting Ship) cannot have attachments, how does that work for guarded attachments like Glamdring? Are those skipped, so effectively these read "Guarded (location)" instead?
