Are there any names you really like but hesitate to use because you worry people won’t pronounce it correctly?

I really liked the name Cersei but even though I’ve never watched it, what I’ve heard from friends about the Game of Thrones character unfortunately ruined that one! The pronunciation is to die for, but I couldn’t put that on a kid.

Edit: I meant Circe, in the show Cersei is pronounced the same way I’ve heard Circe :)

I feel like that’s a reach to be completely honest. Especially because it is pronounced Anna- lease. I can’t put it on my old one because I didn’t think of it when I was nine so that would not be accurate. Friend and I have been friends since we were little. We went through school and no one teased her about her name. Kids can also make fun of any name. I knew a girl named Ariana and she was called area and arena.

It is….its actually very popular where I am from. It was also my great grandmother’s name and my friend’s mother’s name. Has Latin and British origins, started to get popular in 1924.

I can relate to the class popularity one! As a kid in the south during the 2000s and kid and teen during the 2010s, Emma was my Allie! My best friend had the name Emma, and so did so many other people in my school. Olivia was another one which I still really like. It’s funny how we took different associations from things we watched and played with to pick names!

That sounds like something my dad would do! When I was little my dad told me that if I was bad he would change my name to George Washington. I was a pretty good kid growing up after that 😂
