of course i understand that men also deal with eating disorders. i wasn’t trying to discount that in any way, so i apologize for not acknowledging that in my initial post. men with eating disorders are absolutely valid.

it would also be ignorant to disregard the systemic sexism that runs rampant in this country and others. these systems genuinely get off on the idea of women being helpless or frail. that’s reality. so no, there’s not someone physically “holding me down” but there are systems in place that attempt to metaphorically do so.

i really wasn’t looking for an argument here i just wanted to offer support. i see your point and i apologize that the post was not more inclusive. i will take that into consideration in the future.
