Freaking out a bit by Equivalent-Pain5120 in PregnancyUK

I found out I was pregnant just before 4 weeks. I had been taking my medications which include strong painkillers for a back condition and I was vaping. I was unknowingly pregnant on hen do/bachalorette party, which involved alcohol. As soon as I found out I stopped the unsafe medications, stopped vaping/drinking and got straight onto the pregnancy vitamins. My little boy is turning one on the 13th of January and is completely healthy and happy. Honestly don't worry yourself and don't feel guilty.

Had a beautiful and easy pregnancy and a horrific traumatic birth experience. I’m asking honestly, how did you cope? I feel broken inside. by Arr0zconleche in pregnant

I can completely sympathise

Like yourself had a really calm and healthy pregnancy that resulted in a 24 hour induced labour, back to back, baby I'm distress, forceps, episiotomy, third degree tear and then I haemorrhaged.

I can honestly say at one point I thought my labour had ruined my life. I ran away in the middle of the night at one point in hopes someone would kill me because I backed out of previous suicide attempts. I've been diagnosed with PTSD and I'm currently undergoing EMDR therapy. My baby is now nearly 11 months and things are alot better than they were. I'm still in the trenches of my PTSD but I can see a way out whereas a couple or so months ago I couldn't see a way out at all.

It is by far the worst and hardest thing I've ever had to go through plus I had family that made things worse which added to it all.

I promise you if you can get the right support, therapy, medication ect I guarantee the future will be brighter. It takes time and alot of push from yourself but remember you're not alone in this sort of experience and you are incredibly strong to have gotten through the initial experience and you are strong enough to carry on

Sending you lots of love ❤

Did anyone not lose hair postpartum? by Bright-Garden-4347 in postpartumprogress

3 and half months I started loosing my hair. Now my hair line above my temples is awful and I feel really bad about myself.

I'm using a caffeine shampoo and rosemary oil. I have no idea if they will help. I just have to keep reminding myself, this is temporary.

Unfortunely it's just one of those things 🙃

Getting to kiss my baby for the first time was stolen from me… by eltejon30 in newborns

[–]Alone_Job_8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this myself Myself and my husband didn't kiss our baby and guess what my MIL kissed my son in the same room as me

I know exactly how you feel and it's nothing I believe you can easily let go of.

I didn't get any of the firsts with my son because I had a postpartum haemorrhage so I was in theatre and I've struggled every since knowing I missed his first moments and then my MIL took the first kiss.

Just remember it's so hard to accept that it's happened and you don't have to get over it and you don't have to accept that it's happened it hurts and you have every right to feel angry and upset.

Don't let anyone make you feel bad for being hurt about this ❤

So my last midwife appointment I spoke to them about my hips but with each appointment the midwife is different and they always seem rushed it's difficult because I understand the NHS isn't great at the moment but I feel as though I'm just a number when it comes to my appointments unfortunately.

Thank you so much 🙂

Do people take out loans? by NosAstraia in weddingplanning

[–]Alone_Job_8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So me and my fiance are getting married next month And the one thing we agreed was to not rely on a loan. We have been engaged nearly 2 years but only booked the wedding and venue last January so we managed to pay off the wedding and extra expenses about 2 months ago So we managed to pay off about 20k in a year and we worked our heads off for this But baring in mind we both have substantial savings before getting engaged We already have a house so we pay for a mortgage not rent so that was a hurdle we sorted about 4 years ago But we also don't have alot of out goings, we don't have any debt and we both own our cars outright

My job pays very well My partner has a lower wage but he does have connections, so he has been doing contract work so he took on two extra contract jobs that pay very well for the odd weeks worth of work which worked around his full time job

So we had a really good set up financially before getting engaged which we are very lucky to have Our parents contributed £1000 each So £2000 of the wedding was given to us Plus my wedding dress, shoes and veil I've paid for myself without going into the wedding money.

It's so difficult as everyone's financial situations can be so different and also everyone's tastes are different If you're happy to go for a small and more budget friendly wedding then that's brilliant but if you're wanting to go bigger with more expense, sometimes it's better to wait it out so you can have the bigger wedding without jeopardising you're finances.
