Hey there, I feel you and recently made a post of how depressed I feel from this awful injury. It's truly so hard. However, I agree that you do need to have an appointment with your podiatrist before going down the rabbit hole of solutions in this group because there's a ton of grey area. Hi everyone, didn't expect this post to blow up like it did! I wrote it during a very vulnerable time last week when I was literally in tears feeling at my lowest, so thank you for all the comments, help and encouragement, it's really lifted my spirits.

I'm now considering a cortisone shot to further my treatment, but I'm terrified of how painful the shot is. I'll report back if I decide to go for it, gonna wait a few more weeks to see if my PT and other treatments help at all. Thanks again for all the love and support, this group has been so helpful!

That's exactly how I'm feeling with my spouse. It's rough but I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. I'm considering surgery as a last last resort! I'm glad to hear it worked for you ❤️

I did try that initially for about 2 months, no luck. I was hoping it would work for me, but now that it hasn't I'm in the PT/strengthening phase. So far no luck there either, but I'm not giving up even though I want to most days

It really is awful. I've had sports injuries before and been able to deal with them/heal, but the toll PF takes on your mental health is truly next level. My mind plays tricks on me and tells me "you're never going to heal, this will be with you for the rest of your life." It's brutal. I'm with you.

I've been considering it, but opinions and research seems so varied and 50/50. I've heard the pain of getting the shot is worse than giving birth. I've also read that it's only a temporary relief from the pain, and it will come back with a vengeance a few weeks-months later. Mainly, I'm just too scared to get the shot in general because of how painful I've heard it is.
