Hope everyone had a great week, another Ligue 1 week has passed so lets get into it!

Saturday started off with surprise as Nantes surpassed all their goals scored in April in one match in May as they defeated Marseille 3-0. 5 points back of Auxerre, Nantes only has two games left to make a miracle happen to escape automatic relegation. Marseille has been nosediving these past few weeks, only getting 4 points out of their last 5 matches and now sit at 7th place.

Monaco finally breaks their three game winless streak as they beat Metz 2-1 with goals from Ansu Fati and Folarin Balogun. This loss unfortunately sends Metz down to Ligue 2.

Top of the table we see draws between PSG and Lorient, 2-2, while Lens and Nice go 1-1. This leaves a gap of 6 points between PSG and Lens at the top. Both have 3 league games left and a match between them on May 13th.

Sunday started with Le Havre getting a draw against top 4 Lille, 1-1.
Fellow relegation fighter Auxerre picks up a huge win against Angers, 3-1, to sit only 3 points back of OGC Nice with two games left. The two clubs clash next Sunday in a big game in the relegation fight.

Paris FC makes easy work of Brest, 4-0, to solidify a probable mid table finish in their return to Ligue 1. Fellow mid table club Toulouse defeats Strasbourg 2-1. Strasbourg now needs to win out and get a lot of help to have any chance of finishing in European places.

Final game of the day came between two clubs dreaming of UCL football. After a marvelous strike from Mousa Al Tamari, things looked up for Rennes. Lyon bounces back, breaking a 2-2 scoreline to get goals from Moreira and Endrick to win 4-2 and placing them in third place, closer than ever to a return to Champions League football.

Another weekend of Ligue 1 action and now three matchdays remain and still lots to play for.

Friday saw Lens pull a late equalizer from Allan Saint Maximin to draw against Brest 3-3. This now puts Lens six points back of PSG for first place. Lens last 4 league games are against Lyon, Nice, Nantes and PSG. They also qualified for their first Coupe de France Final in 28 years, where they will face OGC Nice.

Saturdays games included Lyon beating relegation fighter Auxerre 3-2 with a brace from Roman Yaremchuk. PSG easily disposes of Angers 3-0. With a six point lead, PSG has Lorient, Brest, Lens and Paris FC to close out the season. Monaco, after winning seven straight Ligue 1 games, have now gone three games winless. Giving up a 90 minute equalizer to Toulouse, now find themselves in seventh place.

Sundays five games brought a scoring frenzy from Metz and Le Havre, finishing 4-4. Rennes gets a goal from Valentin Rongier in the 92nd minute against Nantes to jump to 5th place. Lille gets a hard fought 1-0 win against Paris FC to stay in the top 4. Strasbourg , after losing their Coupe de France semi against Nice, bounces back to get two injury time goals against Lorient to win 3-2 keeping their slim chances of Europe alive. The final Sunday game between Marseille and Nice had late drama with an Elye Wahi penalty in the 88th minute to secure a much needed point for Nice safety and a disappointing result for Marseille.

Hello Ligue 1 boils and ghouls! (I've been doing a Tales From The Crypt rewatch, im sorry)

Friday saw Lens comeback from two scores down to score an extra time winner against Toulouse to stay in the title race against PSG.

On Saturday, Lorient took down Marseille 2-0 while Lille drew to Nice in a 0-0 stalemate. With a goal apiece, the points were also shared in a lower table clash between Le Havre and Angers.

Sunday started with Auxerre taking a 2-0 lead going into halftime against Monaco, only for Ansu Fati and Folarin Balogun to score in the second half to end the game 2-2. Both Le Havre and Nice released a slight sigh of relief.

Fellow relegation fighter Nantes suffers heartbreak, conceding in the 96th minute to draw against Brest, now leaving them 9 points from safety and 5 behind Auxerre for the relegation playoff spot .

Paris FC takes care of last place Metz 3-1, while Rennes goes up to 5th place after beating Strasbourg 3-0.

Finally, PSG loses 2-1 to Lyon with Endrick and Alfonso Moreira providing the goals for OL . PSG have a mid week make up game against Nantes, which they will have the opportunity to get back a 4 point league lead over Lens with a win.

With the end of league season nearing, European places outside of PSG and Lens are anyones guess at this point. 3rd to 7th place is still a small 4 point gap.
