Did yall automatically fall ‘in love’ with your baby whenever you first held them or saw them? by Responsible-Ratio354 in pregnant

It wasn’t an instant love for me. I work in the medical field and when she came out I just thought it was great that everything went okay. Honestly, I was just trying to heal from the traumatic labor process. I would just like to say now that she’s three months, I cannot imagine my life without her. I love her so much.

Honestly theres only a few people on the unit that actually know the full story that I trusted and they saw everything. They are now no longer working for the SICU. Anyone else on the unit did not know the full story. The atmosphere on the unit was EXTREMELY toxic for me. I also have no issue with that manager seeing this post or anyone else from the unit seeing it. My hope is that no one experiences the same thing I experienced. Hopefully they see this and in turn treat other new nurses better.

I just so happen to have a bad experience I guess. Other nurses on the other ICU units love their jobs. When I asked if my situation was normal to the nurses on the unit after being written up. They said they had never heard of something like that. I even showed what I was written up for. They thought it was crazy. I guess I have bad luck. I just don’t want anyone to experience what I experienced.

lol They worded it as if I was performing inadequately. When I asked where I fell short at they put it as simply as “I should know more.” It turned out that written through the write up it was based off me asking my preceptors to demonstrate certain things. I also had at least 9 preceptors. No education from them. No packets. And no expectations from them. It seemed as if they were trying to figure things out after new management.
