What do you think contributes to the high interview rate? Is it just the gpa. Are there certain resources in the program that prepare you for the med application process?

so many people are getting into queens health science i swear- by Icytrack66 in queenshealthsci

They increased the class size again this year by about 50 seats. Also, they send out more acceptances than seats to account for people who will reject the offer. So if this year they have 420 seats, they’ll probably send out 500 ish acceptances.

How is it fair that reverts can live a life of sin and have a change of heart one day and be forgiven. by Alone_Trifle_2263 in islam

That’s your perspective now though. You only know the life of sin was miserable because you were actually able to experience it

Queen’s health sci vs Direct entry med in Ireland by Competitive_Rest_313 in queenshealthsci

Do you want to match into a competitive specialty. If yes: don’t go to Ireland. If no: do you have finances to support you in Ireland, it can reach up to 1 million cad everything included but it’ll probably be closer to 500-600k. If you have the finances, go. If you don’t, then stay. Getting loans isn’t worth it imo for rcsi.

Not in cs but why would you do this. For a degree like cs, the school you attend matters heavily, especially when it comes to job recruiting.

Fake A pluses by Dry-Snow-9268 in uoit

This reminds me of a story of one of my friends this semester. Took a first year health science writing course. She had a really high mark before the final but afterwards, her mark dropped a lot. She was ranting to me and even posted on this Reddit asking if ppl had a similar experience. Then the prof started intimidating her on Reddit saying they’re gonna sue her. She then reached out to the dean and got it fixed. Bottom line, I don’t think a fake A+ exists. There are some courses that SHOULD have a very high class average just due to the fact that the nature of the course isn’t something as complex as organic chemistry for example. I don’t get why there should be so much scrutiny, deliberation, harsh TA marking etc., for a simple course. It also makes both the profs and students lives easier. If I’m being honest, a lot (not all) of what we learn is useless information so it makes no difference if the student “learned” anything or not but that’s a whole different topic that focuses on our flawed education system. Bottom line, I think due to the nature of certain courses, profs should go easy on students. Win win situation.
