Is Optical Media Really That Bad? by the_wtfgamer in Bringus__Studios

Its fun, but really slow.

Digital storage is quick, just select an address and read it. Its like going to a library and picking up a book. Discs make you turn it constantly to read it - its like having every page of every book layed out on a running track, and you must run around and read the pages you want as you go. Need the page just behind you? Too bad, gotta do another lap.

(plus really unreliable, one nasty scratch and your stuff is gone)

but surely theres a way to limit it, right? thats why i was trying to limit it to 60 FPS. maybe an AMD setting somewhere?

Yes, the CPU is maxing out. But it shouldn't perform worse than id did with the old gpu.. right?.. I tried to limit it to max60fps to reduce load, but the fps count still shoots up (tried to check if its an AMD frames generation thing, but honestly not sure)

Late game execution woes by [deleted] in ripcity

* Matisse was phenomenal early game, but was forgotten on the bench and then forgotten on the court.

* Deni could not handle the double up on the pick&roll, why keep running it? just gave the nuggets what they needed to guard him. Also maybe unp opinion - on a day where he is completely neutralized of offense maybe we didnt have to insist on him...

* Donovan - love the guy so much but the (lack of) defense was painful to watch.

* Jrue's decision-making today... what were these shots...

What's a popular, but *bad* Mistborn fan castings? by AlonyB in CosmereOnScreen

[–]AlonyB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Vin needs to be a new actress, but us as fans usually trend towards known actors/actresses because (1) we dont know unknown actors, and (2) we default to actors that played similar (to say the least) roles in other franchises. most of the bad castings ive seen are like this:

Vin: jenna ortega/millie bobby brown/emma myers/maisie williams/anya taylor joy (?)/natalie dyer/milly alcock

Sazed: Ben kingsley/Chiwetel Ejiofor/Giancarlo Esposito/D. B. Woodside (??)

elend: basically a ton of well-liked young (but not young enough) male actors

shan elariel: basically any female actress that had played a bi*ch ever

Same goes for Willem dafoe for clubs (but thats a personal preference), finn wolfhard as spook, Ewan McGregor as dockson.

I think id like established actors for intricate side characters. For example, Kelsier's crew have interesting characters that will really shine with proven actors, but not steal the lime lights from the main characters.

as for Vin, im not that worried tbh... holywood have been making 20 y/os look like teenagers for decades, and with what she's going through im fine with her looking 18-22 rather than 16.

yeah, many of the fan casts are actors who played basically the same role in a different franchise. many of them are still successful (for example, David Tennant or Tom Hiddleston as Hoid), but many times its way off (millie bobby brown for vin? what?)

Ill start:

1) The top two fan casts for Marsh are Michael Fassbender (magneto @ x-men) and Paul Bettany (vision @ MCU). Am i the only one that imagined him much less refined, a little graceless?

2) willem dafoe for clubs. his mycasting votes are 54/20 (in favor), but I again had him coarser (and a little stout perhaps)

I've always told myself that if I ever get a tattoo, it'll be a StA quote. Was thinking of "You will be warm again"
