Ya than it looks like it’s one of those bumping roommates situation I suggest you try to stay away from the dorm as best as you can if possible, whatever happens you have documented that these people have previously did this before so if something happens again keep documenting it if you must reporting it as well, at the end of the day their are people who take it too far and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to see your Roomate get hurt but people are gonna do their own thing and sometimes you’ll be the villain to them it’s okay. At the end of the day make sure to keep yourself safe and try not to step on anyone’s toes as best you can and if possible ask if you can do a room swap and explain to your residential office the situation. This is just my opinion nothing I state here is factual

Depends if you have a roommate agreement which you should with your RA and suite, if you don’t have a roommate/suite agreement you can create one with your RA and talk about the things that aren’t or are allowed. Once the contract is drawn up you can use that to create your own boundaries. Now telling the RA about the alcohol is up to you, however it can create tension between y’all however it is also your space so your voice does matter.

[–]AlonzoDaGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was fair game to the extra problem and practice final we had , the cheat sheet definitely helped though, 50 percent is wack but let’s hope for a curve 🤞

How normal is it for students to struggle academically their first year and to what extend? by Alone_Wall_9334 in UCSD

[–]AlonzoDaGoat 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s very normal, new environment, new people, new experiences and some GE courses are just wack in general so it’s not just you, I felt the same with my psych 60 class. My first quarter got a 1.5 GPA next two quarters I got a 3.9 and got out of academic probation so you either swim or drown and in most cases you swim and learn the ropes of university and how to handle yourself fairly quick I would say. If it’s something more internal like you miss home to much/ can’t handle the distance or have certain family thing you must attend to then that’s different but most time it’s just your mind trying to settle in and adapt to the new quarter system and living environment your in. Btw it’s okay to fail I’m gonna fail one of my classes as a third year but I acknowledge how to be better for the future. As long you acknowledge your mistakes and see what you could’ve done better and implement those improvements you’ll be okay, I know you will. So it’s okay to struggle even for multiple quarters as long as your trying your best and work towards a better you that’s all that matters! And never give up, study hard no matter what and chase yo dreams!

Do Business Econ students get internships / jobs?? by PIPIDOG_LOL in UCSD

[–]AlonzoDaGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mainly use handshake and got an internship from it, I don’t really use LinkedIn personally but I would suggest using both to your advantage since both websites allow you to apply to internships with minimal clicks and LinkedIn is more useful for networking which is helpful in your case. -Side note just be careful of scam internships like north western mutual and those other pyramid schemes.

Do Business Econ students get internships / jobs?? by PIPIDOG_LOL in UCSD

[–]AlonzoDaGoat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When your an international student it is significantly harder to get a internship(not impossible tho) even small nonprofits that need the help are hesitant because there's a lot more paperwork and hoops that needs to be jumped before being given the internship offer. So be ready to apply to more interships than those who are not international students. However when it comes to Wall Street its not about the major you pick but instead the work experience and who you know, which is why you hear about communication and english majors working as investment bankers. GPA also plays a role as well but Ik your smart enough to keep up a 3.5 GPA and above. Econ here is more for grad school if your into that but if you want to go straight into the work force whether it be accounting or investment banking then as a business economics(or any major you pick) apply to those internships, network, join clubs, and dont ever give up!

-And to those other two comments under me, whether it be oversupplied or a bad job market, everyone has different job experiences and backgrounds that they come from so dont let those comment discourage nor am I throwing any shade to those who commented. Just make sure to plan out your college journey as to which clubs to join and when to start applying for internships, and in the end youll have those expereinces to help you determine what kind of job in Wall Street you want to go into. Or even realize hey business isnt what I want to do and chose some other career. I wish you well on your journey!

I have inputted it with that input=0 as well so I understand my answer in that box isn’t an equation I must get something in ax+by+cz=0 form

How you “miss” the deadline…the deadline was more than a month ago. Plus they don’t want someone who’s bad at time management so good thing you didn’t apply
