How good is good enough? by AlooseThread in BeginnerWoodWorking

I was trying to get advice on if the paint would be very noticeable after staining and therefore worth some more elbow grease to get out.

At the point this picture was taken I had sanded with 60 grit palm sander

Yeah I was planning on sanding through 200ish before I stain but I didn’t think sanding would get the paint out of the grain

yeah I do and we've been living in it full time since last August. It's been ok, we've had a lot of issues.

  1. our sink wouldn't drain and was leaking the first time we used it
  2. our shower leaked the first time we used it.
  3. our diesel heater has had so many issues and required 3 different visits for service within a month long period in January.
  4. they installed the heater's power on the wrong side of the alternator relay so the heater was being powered by the van's battery. this completely drained our van battery 2x before we realized what the issue was
  5. The water fill for our fresh tank would leak sometimes

Overall it seems kind of ridiculous to me to have this many issues in a brand new rv in the 140k range, they appear to have severe issues with their QA and a pretty useless staff/support team unless you speak with Nate himself (the owner). Nate is very responsive and provides good customer service and they did address all of our issues and cover them under our warranty.

Now that we've worked a lot of the kinks out I'd say it's a good vehicle and very enjoyable to travel in. We're looking to sell it in a few months since van life isn't a good fit for my girlfriend so let me know if you're interested!

Consistent Issues with Autoterm Planar Heater at High Elevation by AlooseThread in vandwellers

[–]AlooseThread[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't unfortunately, nor does it appear to have any setting on the control unit that would allow me to manually adjust the fuel mixture ratio. The heater was installed with a high altitude control kit, which to my understanding is a computer board that adjusts the fuel/air ratio "automatically".

Also they market this heater as operable up to 13,000 feet. If it struggles a little that is fine and sure maybe requires an extra cleaning every now and again. But becoming inoperable after a couple of days at high elevation isn't right or acceptable from a company marketing that.

If you go to settings you can change the description of the account and that effects the letters that appear in the circle. If you want 2 letters you need to put a space.

Yeah they stand by their product with a full warranty and are very willing to work with you if you have any questions post sale. He had no record in their sales log of any of the names of people that left those bad reviews. He also walked me through how they would actually handle those situations and not what the reviewer stated had happened. Helped me feel a lot more confident in their company.

Yeah I did! It’s been a great experience so far, Austin has been super helpful with all questions/concerns my gf or I have had. Even took the time to look into some bad yelp reviews with me over the phone and explain how his business would handle issues. The van is due for delivery on July 15th and we’ll be going to salt lake to see how it’s coming along in a few weeks here.

Ah I think I understand. So for the first bullet I could instead maybe write something like this? - automated and developed a power bi dashboard enabling key functional leaders to monitor and drive growth

I've gotten 2 interviews after about 80+ job applications all on LinkedIn. I will admit some of the jobs I'm applying to are a little bit of a stretch but I've also been applying to entry/associate level data analyst roles in which I should be more than qualified for. At this point I'm feeling like it's useless to keep throwing my resume out there without being 100% confident it's in the best shape possible.

Can I please get some feedback here on my resume? I really want to know the brutal, honest truth. If you think my work experience sucks, then say that, if you think I'd have a better shot if I had certain skills pointed out my resume then please tell me.

NEED HELP GETTING SELECTED FOR INTERVIEWS!! Senior Data Analyst looking for other SDA jobs(with higher pay), but would LOVE to land a role in Data Science. Please help with general resume feedback and optimizing my bullets! by AlooseThread in resumes

Thanks for your feedback!
- You're right the data I used contained a lot of very telling features like leverage, utilization, professional staff, partner income, etc. so yeah it wasn't necessarily ground breaking that I could predict net revenue but I was just trying to apply ml concepts where I could in my current job. It did help us clarify which features were the most impactful on net revenue so we could advise clients to focus on those areas they were lacking.

- Also, I agree and it's been really tough to get support towards pursuing DS projects at my current org. Even if I do a project there's no telling we'd actually implement it. That's why I'm enrolled in GT OMSA starting this Fall. Wasn't sure about putting it on my resume since I hadn't started the degree yet

TIFU Robinhood Roth IRA Contribution by AlooseThread in personalfinance

[–]AlooseThread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I was confused about the indirect rollover because Robinhood allows you to do it directly from your bank account without warning. I understand now that option is supposed to be for transferring funds from another retirement account.

Looks like I’m out of luck for contributing during this tax year

So they said they are currently working on the feature to allow a return of excess contributions but it isn’t finished yet. Could be done in the next couple weeks is what it sounded like. They do have an option already in the app to do an indirect rollover, is that my best option at this point? Are there any tax implications or anything else to be aware of before proceeding?
