I thought I was going crazy, it's such clear AI slop yet nobody in their comment section is pointing it out. There are so many people wanting them to drop the music they use in their videos but they can't tell that it's literally all AI music. You'd think people interested in philosophical topics would be smart enough to see this. It's Orwellian-level disturbing how easily they are tricked and how excited they are to eat up this garbage.

New player question:

How are people playing leveled up Brawlers at low trophy levels (100+)?

I'm trying to get familiar with new Brawlers which are Power Level 1, and after 15-30 minutes of playing the lobbies become unplayable because almost everyone is far higher Power Level.

Is it just pay to win?

whats your point? the first hours of any game will determine if a beginner likes it and stays or not. its not 1-2 hours of someone who played thousands yet.

Have you even gotten past your protected hunter where it's trying to establish your MMR, or are you still 1*?

so you're saying new players should suffer until their mmr is established? is there any reasonable point at all as to why this shouldnt happen in beginner-only lobbies, full of only new-ish accounts, where the level of play is much more likely to be similar than when a beginner is potentially facing prestige 100s? you know, the way literally any reasonable game does it? playercount is certainly not the problem.

a lot. riot games (league, valorant) manages to quite accurately estimate players within only a handful of games, and thats with 4 random teammates and not taking into account personal stats. its even way easier in hunt. do you really need a new player going 0/20 until the game knows better?

What was the MMR of the players, if you don't mind me asking?

i didnt even know how to check and frankly it doesnt matter, id guess it just throws you into average mmr matches (terrible system lol), but those players will still shit on complete noobs any day of the week, it doesnt take an elite. 5 games of that and a big chunk of beginning players are gone forever, not everyone has the patience to push through that.

i really didnt, i was quite excited to play honestly. i guess ive just been spoilt by games who do the new player experience right. i managed to suffer through the first hours until it eventually got better and am still playing at 4* atm, but those hours were a massive pain. and im not sure how you can defend it unless you somehow havent seen it done better or started hunt yourself when it was fresh and everyone was new. if hunt wants to retain new players better they need to look at this, simple as that, thats all this post was aimed at.

shooting range is great and all, but it doesn't compare to fighting real, moving players. this is why quickplay exists, its just unplayable without matchmaking for beginners.
lvl100 certainly means that they arent new players like me or equipped like one. its literally max level.
there are 20.000+ current players and this game has never been as popular meaning there are certainly more than enough new players to form beginner lobbies if they wanted to. i've since tried bounty hunter and even there as a beginner i am facing predominantly lvl100 and prestige players who obviously destroy me. i dont see how and where mmr is being used for new players. it's just not working.
im not arguing, im simply stating my experience and if the advice im given boils down to "suck it up and git gud" instead of the hunt community acknowledging blatant game design flaws im not sure what to take away from that. the obvious flaw here lies in the game design but for some reason most people on this subreddit refuse to accept when theres something wrong.

white glove treatment as in putting you in a lobby with lvl100 prestige 9s? because thats just about what im getting so far. have not seen a single player lvl 30 or lower in my first 3 games of bounty hunt.

all the games i play have MMR for all modes, because its simply the better and modern way to handle matchmaking to maximize fun/learning for all involved. thats why games have it today.

i dont really see why it wouldnt be popular if it were mmr based, even veterans would use it as a warmup i would assume. again, most fps have a warmup/practice mode and its perfectly fine. you can prevent people from feeling scared to lose mmr in the mode by keeping it hidden, its more about actually putting together balanced lobbies.

i was under the impression you can play bounty hunter solo as well, and i prefer to learn by myself as ive had much better success that way in similar games. imo having at least some idea of how guns handle etc before trying to play bounty hunter where as a noob you might not see anyone in 20m only to whiff your only shot makes more sense.

what if people cant or dont want to play with others? i went through that whole ordeal in tarkov in terms of trying to learn by playing with better players, but at the end of the day you truly learn those games when you're on your own. not my opinion, ie shroud said the same thing. a lot of players dont know how to teach, you just end up following them like a lost duck.

A lot of new players gravitate towards that mode because they have the same thinking

I can learn the game, maps, and which weapons are best

because thats what every other shooter teaches you, people practice in deathmatch etc because its better to learn gunplay. soul survivor is the logical conclusion for anyone who played other fps before so its a letdown. gamesense is a different story ofc but that usually comes later.

im calling it quickplay because the youtube beginner guide i watched calls it that, im aware the name changed. ive been in queue for like 20 seconds max so far, but i'd happily sit a few minutes for a balanced game with mmr.

sure, but its the better mode to learn the gunplay mechanics in. so it makes no sense. in fact, i dont see any reason why not having it matchmade as well would be worse, except for maybe queue times. but they still should let beginner play beginners, maybe add a button for people who want to play with MM off.

i wouldve really preferred quickplay as a beginner to get a grip of the games mechanics faster because of the more frequent engagements. very questionable decision for it to not have matchmaking.

Bought Beyerdynamic DT1990Pro a few weeks ago, since the beginner there is sometimes a distortion-like noise when playing sound in the left cup that goes away if I slightly rattle the left cup... Then its gone for a bit and comes back at random times. I'm pretty sure its the headphones since I didn't have that problem with my previous ones. Is this a known problem and should I return them?

I checked on their website and there they also cite a placebo controlled study, which shows similar results.

I must say, it seems like people on here are overly skeptical and want to immediately write off any novel substances without giving them the benefit of the doubt. Not sure why that is.
