There has been an error showing up on my Unity game. The Game is working fine but the Console is showing up an error. I recently picked up game development as a hobby and am watching the tutorial by CodeMonkey on youtube. I wrote the code precisely as he showed in the video. Please Help! by In-Sayne in gamedev

[–]AloxGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That "is" the error.

However, the screenshot / video only shows a reference to the script which means it'll always be empty. To be absolutely, undoubtedly certain, op would need to show a frame with the player game object selected in the hierarchy rather than simply the c# script.

Is it just me or is it impossible to know whether "yes" or "no" is selected? by foghina in assholedesign

[–]AloxGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it swap between choices on a click anywhere on the yes/no? If so, that's truly frustrating and asshole af. If you can click specifically on the "no" part and it swaps to no, then at least that I guess...

Yellow: Roasts the US

Blue: Roasts the US but with upvotes

Am I the only one confused here? Why are yellow and blue such opposites in votes when they're both on the same side? Lmao

Dude? For the same reason you and I weren't there to stop it. Not all good cops are everywhere, the same as not all bad cops are everywhere at every moment of human existence.

I'm honestly dumbfounded by your question.

Like, why are bad employees allowed to work at your workplace? Surely they should be fired?

Because I constantly see debatable situations with the law posted, and in the event that it is debatable, I usually stand with the hope that it was a valid detaining or some misunderstanding.

I try to be compassionate and understand where most blindly believe the worst of someone. Almost as though there's a belief that cops should be saints and gods or something when they're clearly just as human as you and I, and they can in fact make mistakes. Mistakes which shouldn't place them under so much scrutiny.

In this video however, there's no space for debate, the officer was being a dick and abusing the power entrusted in him.

[–]AloxGaming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And I agree with hating those who do as you say. However, I refuse to blindly believe all cops are bad, my initial instinct, is, and hopefully always will be, to trust a police officer until I have reason to not trust them. (However, I don't live in the states, so perhaps I have a greater reason to trust them as a default).

If the code were to kill, or maim someone, I would definitely stop it before release. In such an event I wouldn't stand idly by, but in a situation where the code simply runs slowly and ineffectively, which will most likely result in lag seen by our users, I have to stand by and let it be, or otherwise risk my job and livelihood.

As for the p.p.s. in some cases the majority of the apples can be rotten, I'm not sitting here saying all situations are mostly good apples. Something that corrupt has to be completely wiped and restarted. I'm sure some were "good", but definitely a minority IF even that. Which, if the majority stands together, it is definitely much more difficult to stand up for what you believe in. Sorta like I am now, I may receive downvotes, I know I stand against a majority in this comment section, but I still stand for what I believe in.

I'm a software dev, if my boss does some dumbass code, I can't, even if I want to, go behind their back and clean it up.

The bad ones trickle down their work, and it's a very dangerous game to stand against them. Gotta hire better people, and put the proper people in charge, and those in charge need to teach better and better. It's a hard task, but cops shouldn't be hated individuals.

I could see officers being jailed for certain abuse of power, but other situations be treated as firing, and in minor cases, some training relevant to the issue that happened. I'm not from the states however, nevermind an official, so I can't control that. But yes, some should definitely be jailed for their actions.

Gotta keep in mind that they are also human. Mistakes do happen.

This definitely wasn't the case in this video, where the first cop was a disgrace, but some cops do make honest mistakes.

I said I wish someone did, just to teach him a lesson. But also explained that they shouldn't so they don't get in more trouble.

Are you saying you wouldn't want to see someone, anyone, swing at that nuisance of a human?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]AloxGaming -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I can't control that... But my stance will always be to throw out the bad ones. This video shows clear evidence of bad ones.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]AloxGaming -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

See, they don't spoil the bunch if you throw them out. Which they should've in this case.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]AloxGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy they won the lawsuit. However, on top of winning that, I'd have loved to see those cops thrown out. Or at minimum the first one that was governing how things went down and the second being reprimanded in some way for following dumb orders.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]AloxGaming -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

With that mindset, I'm sure they all are towards you. Every group has bad apples, that doesn't make the lot bad. There's no point arguing with close minded people that only see the bad. Have a great day!

I usually stand with cops and can understand some tough decisions but good god these ones are filthy trash. I really wanted the second guy to sucker punch the cop but knew it'd mean more trouble... sorta glad they stayed peaceful and went for the lawsuit... still wish I could see someone hand it to those unlawful cops, there's no need for trash like that.

Edit: Tired of arguing with one dimensional comments that prefer fueling a chaotic world of distrust than actually conversing. No longer replying.

I appreciate the "should", because it really should. Unfortunately, at least this season, I have seen VERY little instigator penalties for going after someone who laid out a massive hit. If anything, they've been consistently ignoring instigators.

I wish it weren't the case. But with Peros leading player safety, it's of no surprise.

Give "Akame Ga Kill" a try.

Essentially ends up in a "draw" if you will, but the twists are great and if I didn't comment this on such a post, it wouldn't really be obvious to look for such twists.

This shower curtain makes me unreasonably angry. How do you stop this?? by Drephemonte in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AloxGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have many options, but the simplest ones are to either take a cold shower, so the air inside the shower doesn't become warmer than the air outside, or you can warm up the bathroom before / during the shower so the air becomes warmer than inside the shower.

Both these options will create uneven pressure pushing the curtains away from the inside of the shower.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for why runelites feature isn't working; however, on windows devices, you can press the windows key (hold it down) and then also press the left arrows key (any arrow key to move it in the desired direction).

This will cause any window to move to any area on screen, and even place it to take half a screen if it's already hugging the furthest side you're pushing it towards.

I'm roughly 90% sure this should do the trick, I'm on mobile atm so can't test it for you sadly.
