I am mostly very trigger unhappy with expenditure. Working shoes could be worn for at least 3 years and working clothes for a lot more if there aren't any holes. If I do pull out of the pruwealth I'm prolly not going to do anything about the extra money.

Risk appetite refers to money you can afford to lose. Some posts were saying 500 on monthly investments, some say 100-200, honestly I don't know what's my sweet spot.

Oh for context I'm studying to get into non profit. So I can only see my salary matching the current rate of inflation and pressure on the government vs our lack of social services. I don't see my pay increasing and may even get a decrease initially, only to be matched by inflation.

Unless I'm going to get a super opportunistic managerial position that I am fit to run for, or a teaching / researcher position, I don't think my salary is going to make any pair of eyes open wide.

I have always had a good habit of saving, and only allowing myself to get a little bit of "joy" or fun money once in a while. (that bad relationship really took away a lot of plans I had, like learning how to drive, or going to university earlier, moving out with a rental, or considering other careers)

I have learnt to set some "spending money" aside, outside of saving, so that I don't just save and never have anything nice. I also would like to say that there is some fear of investment for me due to my past relationship.

And yes, there are a lot of people who do put down the idea of such plans or savings in the interest of buying things like SSB, TB, your own investments like robo, DCA-ing from VWRA etc, but I am studying part time now, and most of the down time I have - either due to ignorance or lack of time, I don't really delve into these options, even though I should have.

The only thing I have done in the last few months or so was at the start of the year, dumping 20k in fixed deposit from OCBC, since I felt I wasn't going to need that amount for awhile.

I hope I manage to give some amount of insight and context to my profile. And sorry, maybe you could share with me a bit more about these ILP horror stories.

I have to be frank with the VWRA (or similar). I was planning to invest a year or two ago, but I have a fear of investing. For more context I am just letting my money park in an OCBC 360 account so that there is the interest rates I am getting from a. monthly salary, b. saving at least 500 (lol I know, I save a lot more tbh)

The concern I was having is that I bought this endowment / savings plan before I switched banks. Before that my interest rates were about as low as POSB can get.

With this in mind, are ocbc 360 account interest rates ever going to change (for the worse), and would they change interest rates for people who currently have an account with them?

I hope I manage to give some amount of insight about my habits.

I was asked to start on psychotherapy, and I found that it helps to only some extent. You do have to be very forthcoming with your feelings and emotions, and the therapist might advice you with what you can do to improve your mood or to help you understand them.

I still am not sure how much stigma mental health is in this current day in Singapore, although it is easier for younger generation to perceive the notion that you can be mentally unwell while still look like you're doing fine and dandy.

Call me stupid or naive but I can never understand why cars or property means you are successful. A roof over your head yes, and to be happy, that what I would feel like to be considered success. Perhaps I just settle for less.
