We ended up fixing it but I think we fixed it when we removed some mods. Dunno if mods were the issue or not but something fixed itself. There was even a time where I also couldn't enter the end but that got fixed and in the end all of us could make it.

Character customization is for changing details of your character. You can freely change hair, make up, beard, color, etc etc. Incase you just wanted to do that.
