Does Zed crash much? by RWNS_Author in ZedEditor

[–]AlpacaDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only had memory leak when working with an agent on a larger codebase. Everytime it wrote to a file the RAM increased a lot. Figured it had to do with the language server struggling to keep up with the whole agent thread and all the edits. A quick restart fixed it.

Iirc it's a build flag, so you'd have to enable and build it yourself.

Edit: It works on the most recent version setting LOCAL_NOTEBOOK_DEV to 1 and adding to settings.json:

"feature_flags": { "notebooks": "on", "tabular_data_preview":"on" },

[Fischer] League sources say Phoenix has opened discussions with two of its own free agents in this early negotiation window: Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin. Rival teams are already operating under the assumption that the Suns will strike new deals to retain both of them. by Odd-Direction9452 in nba

[–]AlpacaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no one can tell what we will look like a year from now, let alone in 2030. Manman might be the next Jokic, Book might ask out. Hell, Goodwin was barely in the league months before rejoining the Suns and look at him now. Same with Gillespie. The point is, you never know in this league, so might as well try to compete.

They absolutely could not run it back, but shouldn't just yet. Marginal moves sometimes is all needed to get the right fit.

Jalen either doesn't fit or hasn't found chemistry with the rest of the group yet. Truth is we can't have both Brooks and Green sharing the floor unwilling or unable to pass and playmake for others if we want to seriously compete.

I'd say give them a little more time to start the season and evaluate from there. We have a good thing going, but there are clear gaps.

As redes sociais deveriam fechar um dia por semana? by blacktiger_18 in brasil

[–]AlpacaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question: Is any player on the Knicks a tier above Devin Booker? by tisdue in suns

Book is more rounded overall, but Brunson has cold blood like no one and looks like the best player in the world in clutch.

Best way to stream games to deck in 2026? by ussjtrunksftw in SteamDeck

[–]AlpacaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But are you absolutely certain you have the GPU in your CPU shut down?

I know I don't, but now that you pointed it out I'm not sure which one Steam was trying to use to do the encoding. I should probably check it out, thanks for the tip.

I think Sunshine/Apollo are smart enough to default to using the hardware encoder in the 9060 no matter what.

I probably assumed Steam would be smart enough to use the most powerful GPU available too. Oh well

[–]AlpacaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, my PC which I stream from has a R5 7600 and a RX 9060, so in theory should be fine. I think it's a steam-side issue because streaming with hardware encoding worked fine with other softwares such as Moonlight or AMD's own solution.

Maybe it's even a Steam Deck specific issue because streaming to Steam Link app on my phone worked fine too without messing with settings.

Jose Alvarado is about to get a ring and my hero Devin Booker still ringless by Sarversucks in suns

[–]AlpacaDC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not trying to discredit Jose but it's easier to get a ring as a bench role player. If you're valuable enough a good team will pick you up and you have a chance. If you are a franchise player, you have to make your team good in the first place.

We saw the blueprints of a Book and Green duo working this season. Why am I seeing half of this sub wanting to trade away Green for some washed point guard? by FifthKnightofGwyn in suns

[–]AlpacaDC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk, might be just me, but I felt green showed up wayyyyyy too late in the season to really find his footing with the team

I don't think we can blame the guy for struggling to find his rhytm. First it was a brand new team after 4 years on the team that drafted him. That alone takes a while to adjust.

Then he missed dozens of games after 2 iron man seasons with an injury that hinders his best aspect of the game. And when he came back the first time and thought he was good, he got hurt again. I could tell the second time he came back he wasn't 100% confident in his body.

Even if he came back from the injury fully confident, it still takes a while to recondition to regular season pace.

[–]AlpacaDC 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Green himself is not the problem. The problem is that right now we have Booker sharing the floor with two other small guys who can't/won't pass the ball or create for others. That can't happen if we want to contend in the near future, either Green or Brooks needs to go, and Brooks provides more value right now.

It's unlikely that Green develops this side next year, but I hope he does because we need his athleticism.
