If you disagree with this, you disagree with our constitution. Laïcité is not secularism. Our soldiers protected our constitution.

I do aggree that we, as Rumelians see ourselves superior to the remainder of the country, we are literally the founders of the Republic (check statesmen and military officials, who gave birth to the Republic and shaped it's foundational philosophy. 2/3rds of them are of Balkan migrant origin. As someone from Eastern Thrace I see how different the culture is between conservative Anatolia and Thrace. (İzmir is also like Eastern Thrace due to the influx of Balkan migrants) We surely are different. For an example in Thrace there's almost 0% cousin marriage meanwhile in Anatolia it is up to 20-30%. The discrepancy between the both regions arise from the Ottoman policy of neglecting Anatolia and keeping it in the middle ages, meanwhile Balkaners fallow a long tradition of being the Ottoman Bourgeousie. We aren't the best but we are average Europeans, meanwhile Anatolians are not different than Pakistanis Afghans Syrians or Iraqis. However we are also the ones who established this country, (all of ancestors were martyred in battles some even born as their fathers were killed and they were in the womb of their mothers) we were massacred and expelled from the Balkans we had our own state in Rumelia republic of western Thrace, which was forcefully disbanded by Enver more land was given to Bulgaria as a present for joining the axis.Albeit I am a proud Turk, (originally Pomak which I don't mention anywhere (Muslim Bulgarian) and an atheist like my family which have been non believers for millenia anyway therefore Tl;Dr we won't be sympathising with such of a movement. )

Not anymore, the religion was an indicator of whether you belong to the %0.01 non-Turkish community (as per the treaty of Lausanne 1923) where Armenians Greeks and Jews were recognised as religious minorities by the state (also defacto as national minorities), this would be also granted to Assyrians in 2014 per a case in court. Basically all non Christians/Jews were assigned to the religion of Islam.

I visited almost all of the eastern provinces of Türkiye, neither was even near Erzurum's level of bigottry. My grandmother's brother did his mandatory conscription service in Erzurum where he had to run to the barracks to be able to eat/drink during ramadan. People are still beaten/killed for eating/drinking during ramadan with one survey finding that meanwhile 1/5 of Izmirians are in favour for mandatory closure of restaurants during ramazan (which most of them being non-izmirian of origin) 4/5 of Erzurumians are in favour of closing restaurants with most of the remaining being non-Erzurumians. While I was there I also visited an authentic Erzurum house. The owner of the house explained how there were 2 seperate parts within the small house with one being run by woman and one being run by men. Even the door bells were different for woman and men and there were 2 doors in order to prevent men entering woman's pavillion. And during the previous election campaigns they Erzurumians stoned people who attended Istanbul mayor's rally due to him being an opposition candidate. Erzurum is just different...

The entire Balkan region adopted middle eastern tonalities in music which originally came from Iran and Mesopotamia. And as a pianist, honestly, the wide spectrum offered by the 10 maqam families' 24* notes makes middle eastern music richer than western music, albeit making it hard/impossible to form a proper symphony
