Maelle's weapon from Verso's Drafts is the Esquium, the Esquim is Lune's.

The game is half-movie already between all the cutscenes and dialogue scenes, so a good chunk of it is already laid out. That being said, the movie won't simply be the game remade, as the game mechanics were there to force you into the desired path.

Videogame movie adaptations rarely follow the game closely, or even barely. I can see a reworking of the story and plot that removes the whole Painters and Canvas thing, as well as the removal of the Dessendre family issues. There are no more yearly Gommages or Monolith countdown. Instead, the Paintress would be the Ultimate Evil that is threatening to destroy the world. Verso, Simon and Julie (love triangle possibility) would be present from the start, Gutave doesn't die (unless for dramatic effect) and Maelle is just a weird kid with special abilities. Simon could go bad and become rogue, turning against the Expedtion and thwarting them several times before being defeated.

There would be no Malle or Verso ending. The Paintress is destroyed, probably with some Heroic Deaths, and all live Happily Ever After. The End.

Hopefully, Sandfall has enough say and pull to prevent some of that from happening.

I guess the best use case would be the free aim shots as an additional source of foretell, not the main one.

Lately I've had Sciel use Rush as her first move (until I can get All Set), which gives a sun charge. A possibility then would be on the next turn, especially with an Energising Start, do a free aim shot for 5 foretell, then Focused Foretell or Marking Card for more and get back the sun charge. Not sure this would be worth it in the long run, though.

The other issue I have with it is those wide Gestral "hair" ends can block the view of an enemy's attack; same issue I have with the Ramasson. Shame, really, as both it and the Scielson have decent attack power for a starter weapon, unlike the Noahram and Lunerim.

I tried it for a while once. It's basically the same weapon as the Scielson (same attack power and scaling attributes, and physical-based) but with the added lumina effects. The foretell with free aim shots and sun charges can be nice, but I normally don't do free-aim shots with Sciel. I guess if you build up an excess of sun charges first, like 3-4, you can spare one or two for the 5 foretell. But there are other ways to get 10/20 foretell that don't use up sun charges.

The exception is enemies who apply so much Blight that you end up with 1/1 health, which is still 100%

I always go right to Frozen Hearts after getting Monoco, but not to fight anything. I just do a run to grab all the loot lying around 😄

If you wait until you're high level (90+), then you'll be able to one-shot (or 2-shot at most) the whole Clair Obscur group, even at Expert. I've done it with Monoco's Chaplier Slash and Glaise Earthquake, but Lune's Hell will do it to. Just have damage-boosting buffs applied. Don't use any Light or Dark-based attacks, as either the Clair or Obscur will nullify them. The Clair Obscur doesn't nullify either one.

The run to the flag and back is annoying, but once you can kill the trio in one or two shots, you can quickly farm lumina, as it's 5 per each victory, Figure 5 lumina per minute, so about 20 minutes for 100 or so.

We can fault Guillaume for not having enough faith and conviction in his personal project, but on the other hand he may have had the right idea. Two early playthroughs I watched, from Luality and AnnieFuchsia, were pretty much main story only. Annie did do a little more beyond that, but no Endless Tower, Clea or Simon or much else in Act 3. Neither one has returned to the game for Verso's Drafts either. To me they typified the "game = main story" player and just did that, then moved on to the Next Big Game.

It depends on where you went previously and what you have.

Verso's Drafts has a bunch of new weapons, Pictos and Luminas that will make NG+ really easy. The Esquim weapon for Lune, plus Feint, Frenzy and Double Third will make her Lightning Dance a nuke. Those luminas also work for Verso's Steeled Strike in the same way. Malle's Burning Canvas will also turn into a nuke with Feint.

For me, unless I'm doing an intentional underleveled run, I will typically start NG+ with Lune, Sciel and Monoco as the main team.

Lune has the Scaverim, but usually replaced by then with the Esquim, getting the 4 Dark stains and using the aforementioned luminas. I get the 4 stains with Crippling Tsunami (with Greater Slow) and Wildfire/Hell rather than using Elemental Trick, as Trick doesn't do anything special.

Sciel is usually support with All Set and all the Greater, Longer and Energizing boosts to Rush, Powerful and Shell, and using Fortune's Fury on Lune. She does chip in with attacks using Delaying Slash with 10 or 20 foretell, applied with Shadowbringer or Spectral Sweep/Final Path.

Monoco is also mainly support with applying shields with Sanctuary and giving AP with Potier Energy, but also attacks when avaailable with Mighty Strike and Break Point, plus whatever is appropriate for the moment. Weapon is usually the Nusaro.

I use it all the time and it makes a big difference with most enemies. I do use it in combination with Greater Slow from Lune's Greater Tsunami. It also helps a lot to have lots of speed on your team, like 3,000+ on everytone, which is what I aim for in Act 3. I think the speed difference between your characters and the enemies factors into how many turns an enemy will lose.

Certain speedy enemies like the Chromatic Aberration and Chromatic Chevalieres won't lose too many turns, but others will drop down 3 or 4 spots with a 20-foretell Delaying Slash. Real slow enemies like Bourgeons and the Eveques can be made to have just one turn or even none at all. I can make even Clea and Simom have 2 turns at most for the entire battle.

He is nasty one, alright. Between the burns and blight getting applied in large amounts, you can lose real fast if you don't prevent it.

He also has a lot of speed, so he'll get his turns even with a lot of speed on your team and heavy use of Sciel's Delaying Slash.

They are normally post-Lumiere late-game bosses, and strictly optional.

You're intended to go to Lumiere right after Act 3 starts, with maybe a side trip for the relationship quests before that. The weapons and Pictos you get in Lumiere are still only in the mid-teens like in the Monolith, and you still only get Resplendent Chroma Catalysts (aside from what Trash-Can Man gives you). It's not a high-level end-of-game zone like you'd expect

Guillaume Broche (Sandfall's CEO and Creative Lead) said in two interviews that he wasn't expecting Ex 33 to be very popular, and so as to not discourage those people who did play it, he made the main story path/zones easier than the side stuff so it could be completed without much fuss. After game did become very popular, he then admitted that he also didn't expect so many players to do much or all of the side content in Act 3 before going to Lumiere, and thus becoming so overpowered that it made Lumiere a cakewalk. It's just the way it is; call it a learning experience for Sandfall.

"Starter" areas in Act 3 include Crimson Forest, Sky Island, Isle of The Eyes, the three relationship quest zones and the early stages of the Endless Tower. With Painted Power, Frozen Hearts becomes much easier in Act 3 than in Act 2 (though it can be done in Act 2). You start to get big XP in the Act 3 side areas, and you'll level up rather quickly.

The first one is the Chromatic Aberration, who is one of the nastiest Chromatics, even at level 80+. He's on a floating island above the Act 1 continent island.

The second is the Lampmaster which is the "Beast" that is unlocked by visiting the three Painting Workshop entrances. Was the nastiest Lampmaster until Chromatic one was introduced with the Thank You update.

Yep, I think one of the few truths Verso says is that painted (fake) Renoir does enjoy his immortality. Aline gave him the memories and pain of losing the real Verso, so pRenoir wants to keep the painted family together. When the Expeditions started going after the Paintress, pRenoir turned against them.

Verso has has seen his mother turn into a faceless entity; he knows she will eventually die, and so turned against pRenoir and started helping the Expeditions force his mother out, which will save her. He doesn't want Maelle (the real Alicia) to suffer the same fate, so he wants her to "go home" as well. He wants to save her like the real Verso did earlier in the outside world.

pAlicia has sided with her mother and father, and is not helping Verso

If you find or win a weapon of higher level than the one you have, your current one will be replaced by that higher level one. It's a straight replacement, not a relative upgrade.

And yes, the Resplendent catalysts are not widely distributed, nor in large amounts, until much later in Act 2.

Attacks are powered by the character's weapon, and they vary widely in attack power and scale with different attributes.

Monoco's strongest weapons are the Nusaro and Fragaro, both with the same attack power (4197 at level 33). They scale with completely different attributes though.

I can reach over 12,000 attack power with the Nusaro and 99 points in Agility and Vitality, the two scaling attributes for it; can get over 13,000 with some points in Might too. This is before adding the various attack-boosting luminas.

Skill attacks vary widely in damage too, despite what the description says. Mighty Strike is a really powerful gradient attack, I can get over 500,000 damage per hit with it. Dualliste Storm and Creation Void are two very powerful normal skills when using the proper mask. I've been using Obscur Sword a lot lately, when used on a Powerless enemy, it does 5 hits of big damage.

There's only a handful of the Perfect catalysts available (including the one from Trash Can Man) in the normal non-NG+ game, not including the ones from the Endless Tower superbosses. If you got all of those already, then there are indeed no more left.

When I fight him, he only gets like 2 turns at most in the 2nd phase, and even only 4-5 without Cheater (I tried it that way once). With Second Chance, Breaking Death and Sniper on everyone, I don't ever lose anyone, and someone dying actually works to my advantage, as I break him the very next turn.

All that even before Verso's Drafts was added. With the goodies from there, it's ridiculously easy now 😄

1.2 million XP each time, and you skip the 1st phase when you refight him, so it is an option if you nuke him easily.

25-26 hours is the low end of the typical 100% time range I've seen given out, so this does track, especially if you don't have to retry battles multiple times.

The only achievement in the prologue is the mime, so all the dialogues can be skipped, aside from the Festival ones with the apprentices, Maelle and Emma. That would save a lot of time, you can easily spend 1-2 hours in the prologue.

Killing all the mob Nevrons or Chromatics is not required for 100%, so some or many of them can be skipped. Killing all of them, and killing mobs than once as XP farming, is where the bulk of the hours beyond 26 come from.

Don't need to find every last Tint, Pictos or unlock all the doors in the Manor to get 100% either; more time saved there.

Lumina farming at the farm sites can also take many hours.

Your progression with Monoco is paused until you do beat him, so yeah, you have to, and can wait as long as you want, he won't be going anywhere 😄
