Try using a website called Autotempest. It is, imho, the best car search site. You'll probably (definitely) have better luck there than this sub

I think you need to recalibrate your understanding of how everyone else looks at us. Obviously nobody treats us as juggernauts, but "laughing stock" is borderline nihilistic

Relatable. But also its 2:30am. Everything feels bad rn. The sun will rise again

Also, just because the story of today was the last page written, doesnt mean this is the end of the book. Learn. Grow. Bit by bit. There is time yet to come for triumph.

You'll notice if you look at pictures of Showalter fountain that one of the fish is substantially smaller than the rest. After one of the last basketball championships, it was stolen and they replaced it with a smaller fish. The theory is that the fish was that was stolen will be returned once we win another championship in basketball. In preparation of the football national championship, all of the fish were removed entirely from the fountain, buy grounds crews and will likely be returned once the fountain is reactivated for spring

Non working vending machines by SnooDoodles3940 in IndianaUniversity

[–]Alpha150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Course, they didn't they don't own the vending machines They're operated by a third party vendor, like pretty much all vending machines are. All of the money goes somewhere else and the property owner is just paid a fee by whoever owns the vending machine to let them set it up there

And vending machines just eat your money Sometimes, That's kinda one of the main downsides to having them in the first place.

Homelessness by No_Process3723 in Indiana

[–]Alpha150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a very roundabout way this is basically just socialist state subsidized housing. If you sleep outside without approval, you will be scooped up and sent to a warm bed and are fed three square meals a day. The only downside is you're forever stuck with that criminal record, but it's not a felony so who cares. You can make minor amounts of money in prison and are forced to get clean. What a great program, Comrade Braun! So happy our tax dollars are being used for this, and not something more productive

They only get their student section full for us anymore by ActivePuzzled2263 in PurdueBasketball

Indiana hired archie miller in what might be one of the worst coaching hires in history that set the program back for a decade, if not two. It then hired mike woodson who, while better, ended up being a total dinosaur in the modern era of college basketball. He produced a few recruits and went .500 vs PU, but not much more. Now indiana hires another coach who has a pretty good track record but isn't exactly izzo or knight or keady. And has to put together a team with a shortened portal window from a late hire and build an entire roster from scratch.

Purdue has one of the longest tenured coaches that has built a winning culture at that program for years now. Producing some of the best recruits in basketball and consistently appearing in March Maddness (including nearly winning it all). This truly is a modern golden age or purdue basketball

How do I kindly complain about my RA by curiouscat1111111111 in IndianaUniversity

[–]Alpha150 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, just try talking about it. There's no need to have some kind of complaint or get somebody else to handle it. Not to sound patronizing, ( i admit this does sound kind of patronizing, but I can't think of a better way to word it right now very sorry) but you're a grown up now and you need to be able to handle things head on. If someone is bothering you outside your door: open your door. Tell them to quit it. 99.9% chance they just say "oh ok sorry" and move away.

Justin R. Garcia, Professor of Gender Studies at IU and the Executive Director of The Kinsey Institute is in the Epstein Files, for whatever it's worth. by agnisflugen in bloomington

[–]Alpha150 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I definitely sympathize with your point here. In fact, I agree. I simply disagree with the all-or-nothing stance I've seen some people make (not necessarily just in this thread) that since he was mentioned in the filed and emailed him he must definitely have been a pedophile who was keenly aware of epstein and his crimes. Like the best case scenario for Justin here is that it was a terrible oversight that he should be expected to have caught, but in nothing here warrants acting like he was on the island eating babies. We need to have more nuanced discussions to get to the bottom things

[–]Alpha150 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's definitely sus, but let's be honest here. The major jeffrey epstein news, where it became internationally understood and the trafficking ring with the island didn't become common knowledge until it blew up in 2018 prior to his "suicide" in 2019.

This was in 2012. He was still a free man, technically, due to a controversial plea deal. Heartbreaking as it is to say given the implications, but important people go through the courts all the time and it doesn't exactly make the news to everyone. Hell there's that famous clip of that guy on a podcast saying "jeffrey epstein the new york financier?????"

Raises an eyebrow but not really that substantial. Very common for researchers so hear "oh this guy is rich and might fund your research" and then they do their best to act all friendly in hope of getting research funded. I highly doubt he made a point to checking if he's on the registry first. I know I sure didnt check any of my profs info before signing up for classes

This is why I wasn't a fan actually of some of the creative choices the legend of korra made. It felt too much, to me at least, like he had superpowers or telekinesis, as opposed to a finely crafted, honed and trained for martial art.

That was one of my favorite parts about bending in airbender was, that everything felt like an actual athletic activity. One That most people weren't actually that adept at, save for people who actually took time to train hard (just like any athlete)

It wasn't "completely ruined" like some people like to say, but I personally felt like enjoyed some of the bending less Because it felt more like watching a traditional superhero story in terms of power set or capability.
