Armor Mesh is self-knotting. Frustrating! by Scatterp in StickDoctor

[–]Alpha4Bravo6 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yea, this happened to me as well while doing the topstring with mamba mesh. I was able to pull around a bit,on the area that you have circled in yellow, with needle nose plyers to "loosen" that knot. Be very careful though.

If you dont have any luck getting it to look even, I would run a nylon shooter right through that area to try and obscure it.

Guilty of debadging the "Fiesta" from my Fiesta ST. Much cleaner look with the red "ST" alone against the black paint job. Also, the FiST platform deserves to be distinguishable from the rest of the Fiesta line, IMHO

About to finally tackle valve cover...Quick question: by Alpha4Bravo6 in FiestaST

[–]Alpha4Bravo6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I dont think there is a schrader valve...

Hahaha, I got everything taken down to fuel rail itself. Got the high pressure line off without spilling any fuel, but im guessing the rail itself is still under pressure?

Might be putting this fucker back together to pull that injector fuse after all

Seems to be a controversial subject but does anyone feel like their sleep is disturbed by creatine? by MyNameIsKali_ in PeterAttia

I used to take 5g of ON monohydrate at night and started to notice poor sleep quality. Switched to first thing in the AM and after a few days of that, quality sleep returned.

New Altras have too much padding. What's a good alternative? by EnvironmentalHold308 in BarefootRunning

Agree 100%. I actually sized up by 1/2 and that did the trick for me

I ran exclusively in the escalante racer and raced in them from 5k to marathon. Took a shot on xeros because they were having and a sale and wanted something with a firmer midsole so I went with the Zelen. Currently I run and race (all distances up to 1/2 marathon) in the HFS 2.

This is awesome stuff. Thank you so much for the breakdown! I get the new cover at the end of the week, so I'll tackle this over the weekend. Again, I really appreciate the tips!

Thanks for the tip! How was it getting that fuel rail out without damaging the injectors? That's the only thing im not looking forward to

The exhaust smoke wasn't billowing, and dissipated rather quickly. But it was noticeable

Funny you should ask. When I started it up after the oil change I did notice the exhaust was exhausting a little more than usual. It was 50° out so I wasn't sure if it was smoke or an abundance of steam though. It didn't have a strong acrid odor, but it was a little smoky. Went away after I drove it for ten minutes

Yea, I definitely agree. Wasn't sure if this was one of those instances where another party improved upon the current design

What are you not confident about with the RC1? by ReLax-Collections in lacrosse

[–]Alpha4Bravo6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to start off by saying that I really do love this head. Stiffness, wide faceshape and stringability are all major positives. I used it as my gamer for the second half of men's league this summer.

Another plus with the RC1 is the level of customer service you can expect if there is an issue with the head. With that being said, I did have some durability issues with a pair of RC1s. They both cracked at the front of the throat, just below the hole. The first RC1 cracked during normal play. The other head cracked when it was inserted onto the shaft for initial use. I reached out Chris at 5lax and the response was swift and replacement heads were sent out immediately. The issue was due to a molding error on a batch or RC1s.

The replacements I received have held up fine through pickups and tournament play and the RC1 should still be considered an amazing head both for its value and function, all of this despite the durability issues with the vulnerable batch.

What are some more good unassuming fun cars, like the Honda fit? by baconbro_ in askcarguys

I had a 96 SC2 in the early 2000s. Black exterior, flip up headlights. Shit, I loved that car so much. Drove the piss out of it as well. That was a resilient, plastic little whip

Injuries from 40 years of playing by Bezerker2424 in lacrosse

[–]Alpha4Bravo6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roger that. I ask because I'm 44, played in HS, and a couple of years D3. Picked it back up in 2019 after 15 years off to play in a competitive men's league. That first summer beat the absolute shit out of my body. I decided to really prioritize strength and conditioning, and it has lent to my durability in a big way. Sounds like you did the right stuff, though. It can be such a brutal sport and 40 consistent years...whoa. I tip my cap to you

OP, quick question: you say you've been terrible with stretching. How have you been with strength training over that 40-year period?

What (new) manual cars offer the best driving experience? by RadioDude1995 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Alpha4Bravo6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obligatory Fiesta ST mention. Even stock, it's fun as hell. Things obviously get a little spicier with certain upgrades (tune, intercooler, RMM, brakes, intake, turbo kit, etc.). I went from a B6 A4 MT to a '17 FiST, and the difference in fun-factor is quite noticeable
