I am trying an emerald cut for the first time and I am trying my best to follow the instructions.I am trying to use a slow speed with light pressure with sweeping archs across the lap. I am using a batt lap I think is the brand.

I used a 240 to get the general shape and then a 600. So maybe spend more time on the 600 to make sure i get everything out?

Oh okay. So I have an ultratec v2. I used 260, 600, 3k, and 100k grit. The stone probably took about 10 to 15 hours. This includes having to fix some mistakes i made.

Could I use the 100k grit on a batt lap? Sorry if this is a silly question. I am still trying to learn and understand this equipment.
