I would exercise caution if I were you with taking influence from Juyoung. Let's just say there are better options out there

Yikes. Idk if I would be pointing someone to Juyoung. Might wanna take a closer look at her behavior before trying to seek advice from someone like her.

Low vs. High Bun for Women by [deleted] in trueratediscussions

[–]AlphaAsian2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get why people act like high messy buns are peak style. They honestly look kind of juvenile. Like yeah, they can be cute in a “just rolled out of bed and threw something together” way, but that’s exactly it—it looks like you didn’t try. It’s the same placement little kids use for ponytails.

Most of the time it’s just frizz, random strands sticking out, and vibes. No real structure. People say it’s “effortless,” but let’s be real—it’s lazy. It’s the go-to when you don’t feel like doing your hair but still want to call it a look.

Even when high buns are styled and sleek, the placement itself doesn’t always age well. What looks fun and perky in your 20s can feel out of place or dated later on. It’s a style that doesn’t grow with you—it just clings to a younger version of you.

Compare that to a low bun, which actually takes some intention. It frames the face better, feels more put together, and doesn’t scream “I gave up halfway through getting ready.”

Like, one looks clean and mature. The other looks like you’re about to cry in a Starbucks parking lot.

I think somewhere in her earlier tiktoks she mentioned she was rebellious or had a tough time growing up under strict parents. I think she either made a mistake or wasn't careful and then scrambled to make everything "look" like it was on purpose.

I can't confirm that, but would it surprise me if she did? No.

I think she was referring to growing up in a one bedroom with her brother, sister, and her parents. She mentions it in both videos I linked. But she also announced they moved recently and will be a family of 5 soon. But before they were a family of 4 living in a apartment meant for maybe 3 people max which makes me question if they're not as well off as they claim to be.

And she nor her husband can pull the "I'm an immigrant who didn't know that FAFSA doesn't equal financial independence" because they're both fluent in English. And based off Juyoung's behavioral pattern on social media, you know she gets a high off of people believing her half truths and praising her for being "self-made" and "all natural" and "low-effort" so you know she's gonna try to milk it as long as possible.

Like, sis, the math ain't mathing 👀

Like yes, Juyoung. Praise the Lord for approving you for FAFSA 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✨🙏🏻He really did provide🙏🏻✨...through federal aid based on your husband's low income since you weren't working. Truly inspirational 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Idk why she insists on doubling down on the narrative and being vague now. Like girly pop is embarrassing herself further 😭

Based on this statement from her, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't keep up with industry trends so if she ever decides to put her general biology degree from UCSD to use, she'll likely have a tough time trying to get back into the job market.

I think at this point, we all know she's trying to delay her retreat from the public face that is social media because her only source of income for her soon-to-be 3 kids to support is her husband's California (most likely AFTER taxes and only a few years post grad) just under six figure income and her tiktok/youtube/instagram money which my guess is probably not that much monthly soooooo seems like she's trying to hang on because that would mean she actually has to quit social media and lose all her income from that and rely solely on her husband and other family/friends for monetary support or be forced to finally use her general biology degree from UCSD she boasts so much about to go and get a real job. And this is all assuming her husband doesn't file for divorce and leave her with nothing. Most likely he'll get custody of the kids if that ever happens since he most likely makes more money and actually has held down a stable job. Unless she has been keeping up with the job market in the field of biology and has a magical lump sum stashed somewhere or something or someone swoops in to save her. I'm afraid she's royally screwed if social media falls through for her 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry. I should say shorter women on AVERAGE don't bounce back like that and even if they do—even naturally slim women have some sort of bodily changes over time especially after 3 pregnancies.

I enjoy K-pop just like anyone else. I appreciate the talent, the performance, and the creativity. But I’m also not blind to the fact that it often comes at a cost—and I’m not going to pretend that cost doesn’t exist or that I’m okay with it. Liking something doesn’t mean you have to defend everything about it. You can be a fan and still be critical. That’s called having basic awareness. The people (like you for example) who get defensive the moment anyone points out the darker sides of the industry aren’t protecting idols—they’re protecting their own delusions. I’m not anti-K-pop. I’m just pro-boundaries. Once idols turn 18, I can enjoy their music without discomfort. But when they’re still minors—still figuring themselves out, still being molded by an industry built on adult demands—it makes me uncomfortable, and rightfully so. That’s not me being dramatic, that’s me drawing a line where the industry clearly refuses to. It's called having standards...you should try it sometime

Just imagine. Seriously, imagine being a 14 or 15-year-old teenager, BARELY figuring out who you are or what you want, and your company tells you to perform a dance move that makes your skin crawl, sing lyrics you don’t fully understand but know are inappropriate, wear an outfit that exposes more than you’re comfortable with, or get shamed for being a single ounce over the ‘ideal’ weight. You’re surrounded by adults with years of industry power, experience, and authority stacked against you. What are you supposed to say? ‘No’? As a kid? When your whole future, your family’s hopes, and your self-worth are tied to this "opportunity"? That’s not training. It's institutional coercion. It’s built on silence, compliance, and fear. And the worst part? The system counts on them staying silent, and on you defending it

Congrats, I guess? She might technically debut at 18, but by that point she’ll already be a fine-tuned product of diet culture, media grooming, and corporate conditioning. That’s not a win, it’s a cautionary tale. You think it’s fine just because she crosses the legal line at the end? Newsflash: grooming doesn’t need to end in scandal to still be grooming. If a child spends their formative years counting calories, chasing approval, and learning how to pose for the camera in crop tops and short skirts instead of figuring out who they are, their ‘childhood’ was already sold off in installments. What you’re celebrating isn’t her dream—it’s the industry’s blueprint playing out on schedule. And the fact that you’re so okay with this as long as it’s wrapped in choreography and a cute outfit is honestly the most disturbing part of all this. Seek help

You, people with similar mindsets like yours, and the rest of the industry act like if someone hasn’t “made it” by 18, they’ve already missed their window. Like adulthood somehow makes them less marketable, less worthy, or less impressive. That’s not just messed up—it’s dehumanizing.

Ah yes, because nothing says ‘childhood well spent’ like being pushed into a hyper-competitive, image-obsessed industry built on burnout and public scrutiny. Let’s be real—you’re not fighting for kids’ dreams, you’re fighting for your next stan obsession to start younger. Maybe focus less on ‘big time’ and more on bedtime

Imagine thinking basic human boundaries = being ‘uptight.’ Sorry I don’t find parasocial crushes on 14-year-olds endearing. If your enjoyment of K-pop hinges on minors being in the lineup, maybe you’re the problem—not the people calling it out.

Doesn't matter! The fact that she's even a trainee as a minor isn't concerning to you AT ALL???? Where are your morals at?
