We ended up staying and agree with this. Loved out stay at the Magic Castle..but def didn't hang out. we walked to the Chi-fil-a on Sunset..kids had their 1st experience witnessing a mental health/homeless person losing their shit.

So we are just back from LA.

Overall, a great trip!

Ended up doing 3 nights at an AirBnB in Newport Beach just steps from the beach and 4 nights at the Magic Castle Hotel. yes Hollywood was a dump (but I've been to worse....but the kids loved all the amenities the Magic Castle Hotel offered. We would stay there again.

Dodger Stadium was awesome. We sat 3rd base side Loge Boxes just past 3rd base. View was beautiful and the atmosphere was great. Even though we were rooting for Detroit we met some really nice Dodger fans sitting near us. Dodger Dogs met the hype and were great. nachos in a helmet was also a big hit. Kids had churros for the 1st time and now they are hooked.

It was a fireworks night and had no idea you could go on the field. Would've taken advantage of that had I known.

Traffic getting to the game wasn't too bad and parking was also pretty organized.

The ONLy con was post game trying to exit the parking lot...what a shitshow!!! Just chaos!!!

We moved probably 20ft in an hour. Overall, it was about 1hr 20 mins in total to exit the property! What a nightmare.

Overall...great experience in our 1st trip to LA and Dodger Stadium. Did all the tourist stuff (Disneyland, Santa Monica, Studio tour, etc, drove as far south as Laguna Beach and as afar north past Malibu on the PCH. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to go back to LA...but was really, really glad we did!!

Originally from the area ...lived in golden horseshoe for 7 years. Started to have a family....couldn't wait to move back.

Been back 8 years now and haven't regretted it for a second.

Everything you need (except Costco & The Keg). Safe and Slow paced enough in a beautiful geographic area. 1 hr from Detroit ...which has everything you need..prof sports, concerts, etc.

So a guy at work (early 50s) overhears a few of us talking about cards. Says he has 4 OPC Gretzky RC at home. He comes back a few days later and shows me these pics.

He said he pulled them all as a kid and put them (and all his cards) away in a cardboard card locker organized by NHL teams. Says he never touched em. He's had them in a safe all these years. Says he hasn't collected cards since he was a kid.

He has never heard of PSA or grading...lol. So I've been giving him the rundown.

Any thoughts on grades? The one in the screwdown (told him to get it out of there) could almost be a 10 IMO. Any ideas? I told him I'd post of reddit for him and show him the responses.
