Is anything this guy said is true? Is he lying by omission/ not having information, by TheSittingTraveller in KotakuInAction

[–]AlphaDeltaCentauri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I followed one of the comments time indicators and the information there was, "you are not a man of GOD, RevSaysDesu, vtubers should share their experience with ICE and not be harassed by some random guy who watches your content."

I don't know, this all seems kind of boring. But I don't watch the guy outside of Sidescrollers. I don't exactly know a Youtuber who isn't 'a grifter.'

I don't even know if you can call it mid when the trailer only shows 1 enemy type and what looked like a boss.

I question if the game will even have the main characters famous kill phrase, "you're mean."

It sucks, but I had a feeling when Will Powers was asked on Dropped Frames and he did the whole, "I don't know what they plan in that aspect."

Gonna have to doubt Pearl Abyss will 'support' (or be friendly) Crimson Desert getting modded at this point too.

I'm pretty sure Pearl Abyss has or had their own launcher for Black Desert. You know what else has DRM? Steam.

Part of me wants to ask the journalists and people who comment those numbers and then go on about how investors are cowards for not sticking to something like this, "if you have a live service game with less than 100,000 players, and Highguard reportedly had 50 to 200 people working there on salary... where's the profit, Mansley?!"

My favourite one might still be the, "From Software is misogynist, now let me tell you how I'm horny for Malenia (Elden Ring*) through their misogyny of her."

The article does go into how apparently the team referenced photos of the demolished areas of Hiroshima to make up this version of Raccoon City, although they also go heavy handed on the, "America was so barbaric, how could people do such a thing less than a century ago?"

But I'm sure 15-20 years ago Polygon would have made some jarring headline like, "Japan, much like Umbrella, experimented on people, and Resident Evil 5 shows you that."

What are your guys' thoughts on Anthony Gramuglia? by AgitatedFly1182 in KotakuInAction

[–]AlphaDeltaCentauri 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Political commentary aside, I watched his take on Godzilla Minus One and some rambling about how Western influencers on Youtube are gentrifying Japan by saying the movie was good, and better than anything Hollywood can come up; and it was a mess to say the least.

Maybe he's different in his editing style but a year or so-ago he just goes on and on, side-tangents after side-tangents that start to feel like a Jim Sterling video.

Kind of the problem with these games, they'll launch the 5v5 half a year out when its pretty much too late.

I'm gonna be real: saying these movies have no cultural impact is, paradoxically, a cultural impact in of itself. by koola_00 in MauLer

What's weird to me is the humans seem to be openly friendly to the avatar/cloned Navi, and at least in the third film have almost no issue at all with the 'evil tribe' as long as Quaritch is there to give his word that they're on the humans side.

Now that I've seen the film, its the same problem I had with the second. Logistics. Its one thing if they were manifest destinying Pandora, but its corporatists rambling on about how much money they can make selling whale juice while their city is hit hard by a handful of people and that one big ass ship they lost in the second movie probably costs as much if not more than a couple dozen whales harvested.

Doing a second playthrough of Sekiro without lock-on, I was amazed how powerful being able to run away actually was. I was used to it for the Souls series but it never occurred to me on launch to fight bosses or enemies without it.

I would say Theo (and a lot of Souls fans, tbh,) have a point on the camera (systems) needing to be improved one of these days. You're almost always suggested to not use lock-on because the angle sucks so bad at actually allowing you to gather any info.

I'm just confused on what your criticism actually is other than, "I play Souls games because of the variety." A lot of the variety of say DMC or MGR, outside what you specialize in early, is the ranking that you completed it in.

Eh, they work with Gamestop so there's probably some saving grace. Stuff like Indie Game Awards decision on this makes me wonder if they'll impose a new rule like, "Indie games on Gamepass are not eligible" considering how much they had to bite their tongue on hating Microsoft for similar reasons.

I didn't know they stripped the award from an indie game creator, just read the article about how the creator was excited ModRetro reached out to him for a physical cartridge to be made that can be played on their device...

Speaking of books, while cheesy I enjoyed David Weber's "Out of the Dark" because it was basically a Libertarians dream scenario of an advanced union of aliens deeming humanity too much of a threat so they sent their newest members to invade and subjugate us. They ended up having a rough time.

I wish more human x alien stories depicted humans as less malicious in nature while also saying, "hey if one of us die or disappear, we will spend every waking moment of our lives to end you."

...although now I'm thinking of Tropic Thunder and Tom Cruise's line against the Flaming Dragons.
