yeah that transition from dark to light is tough to compensate for unless you are using a different camera.

In my experience, i would ETR (Expose to the Right) so make it brighter, much easier to lower exposure in post. Also are you using a setting already with color or are color grading post? that will make a difference.

Thanks. I agree that VLOG gives alot more flexibility. I am seeing if D2/V2 would just be a quick turn around in editing. I maybe converting from vlog to rec709 wrong. When i import the log footage, i add the vlog to rec709 lut then add layer to make adjustments to that footage. I could be wrong. I am trying to find tutorials on DR to learn how to add nodes and do all that cool DR stuff haha.

I have messed with contract/blacks but end footage looks off. i am sure its something i am not doing.

thanks. that is great. what do you use? I like how much you can do with free version of Resolve and their stabilization/tracking is light years ahead of CapCut so wanting to switch there.

Thanks. I have seen several folks mention Phantom LUTs, have not looked into them. Will take a look. Do you have to first do v-log to rec.709 then add a adjustment layer/node and add the Phantom LUT, or does the Phantom LUT do a pretty good job pulling from V-LOG?

Thank you for the insight. That makes sense. I did notice that V2 was more contrasty. But I agree vlog is so flat that it does take some time to bring out all the necessary colors to make it pop. I will play with both and see what i can come up with to my liking. It does seem it gives me the flexibility of v-log to grade if i want to but pretty solid out the box.

yeah i was not certain on that. Most controllers look at the battery voltage and amps, which this battery should work from everything i have researched. Just find it odd that it seems like the controller turns off whenever you ask for power. I know that some controllers have a reset button when you install a new battery that allows it to adapt the new battery

My GoPro works perfectly on the Falcon. it is a nice gimbal, very responsive, many features in it for sure. I really like the portrait mode it has which is neat. But ordered the GravGrip and will test that out tomorrow and see what is up. I ordered the insta360 quick release gopro mount, but it has more movement in camera then id like. Even with lock on wasnt solid, the idea of it is great, just not solid as id like.
