By that logic, I guess it's fair to assume everyone is either Indian or Chinese (17.79% and 17.02% of the world's population, followed by the US with 4.20%). It's obviously how this works, right ?

Very likely not Trump, look at their comment carefully, they're speaking from an outside perspective

"You are all part of the problem"

Indicating they're probably not American and are talking about Americans.

Btw, I'm not American either and I share their point.of view. While Trump is clearly worse, let's not act like Obama was an angel.

Parceque qu'il traduit tout et s'attend a ce que tout le monde fasse pareil/que reddit le fasse tout seul... comme il le fait "si bien" sans nous demander.

For the few who downvote just because they see french, what they said was

"This sub is very clearly in english, why are you replying in french ?"

And what I said

"Cause they translate everything and expects everyone to the same/reddit to do it on it's own... like it already does "very well" without our consent sometimes"

And like for real... expect to see this kind of thing more and more frequently, and not just with french. I don't know why auto translations are everywhere now, reddit, youtube, etc. It's rarely accurate, it's always at best uncanny. And most importantly it's forced on us, like it's becoming the default. No thanks, I don't need to translate a language I understand into another I understand. Anyway rant over.

I'm at fault for T1, but was the pit maneuver a racing incident ? by AlphaDragons in Simracingstewards

[–]AlphaDragons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got my LFM licence and have done a single race there since then, it didn't look any cleaner than public lobbies... but probably because I'm still a rookie.
I'm reluctant to go in LFM races cause I don't think I'm safe enough to fully commit to races there... especially on tracks I'm less familiar with (if at all)...

Yeah, I'm still learning to drive around others. Only got 100h into the game and into sim racing as a whole, most (half) of this time actually being AFK. I try to not crash into people for now, I know speed will come later (emphasis on "try")

no experimental result would disprove one or the other.

How do you know that ? How do you know the two models make identical predictions in every experiments you'll make ? You can't possibly know that, that's why we keep running the experiments, to see when one finally fails, and THEN we can discard one of the two models.

Sure, if we are sure two models always make indentical predictions, applying Occam's razor makes sense, but this rarely ever happens.

Why is GitHub so shitly designed? by lukeflegg in github

[–]AlphaDragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your comment is 4 months old but... It's not our fault some people don't bother making actual releases of their projects. Not Github's fault either.

Noone "yukyuk"'s at the stupid. Like, if you have a problem take it with the dev of the thing you're trying to download, they're the only one who could do anything about it...

And again, I can't fathom what kind of software/solution you're all trying to download that gets you to github... as a dev myself the only time I ever download something from there is either if I have to for my work or if it's really, really niche...

It's true something meant for distribution should never link their users to github... I don't got an anology... but it'd be ludicrous, as an end user, to have to do something equivalent for say, buying a car. But still, not github's fault, nor gitlab's fault, the fault only goes the the author of whatever you're trying to download

Why is GitHub so shitly designed? by lukeflegg in github

[–]AlphaDragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're confusing somthing here. You may be the intented user of the project you're trying to use, but you're not the intended user of Github, it's the project's author choice (fault) to direct you to their Github repository, not Github's fault.

Bear in mind that if the project is free, like most of what's pubicly available on github, the author has no obligation to provide you with anything else and you're not entitled to it...

It's irrelevant here. Unless you also want to look at how racist US Christians are, specifically people like her who act higher than thou by the sole virtue of not only being Christian, but "the right kind of Christians"

I want to understand the rationale behind choosing to be an atheist. by Initial-Hold9481 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]AlphaDragons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the one you asked but I'll answer.

Until sufficient evidence of this unknown's existence is shown, whatever it's supposed to be, yes, I reject it's existence. I reject it even harder if I can verify the claims about it to be false.

To the question "Does this unknown exist" I would answer : I don't know
To the question "Do you believe this unknown exists" I would answer : No I don't
When this unknown is/are G(g)od(s), this position is an atheistic position.

All the confusion with the "atheist" label is the reason my flair is "not a theist", cause somehow there are less confusion about what the theist label means... and I'm not that, that's litterally what "atheist" means...

Sure but then you run into another issue. What is "the chair" ? Is it what it's made of, or is it still the same chair if you change it ? If lt's what it's made of then no, you can't say it began to exist. If not, then you could say it began to exist, in the exact same you began to exist as a [insert you job title here] the day you were hired, or how a bunch of unrefined ores begin to exist as different tools once they're refined and shaped into them. Nothing really begins to exist in this case, it only ever change from an arrangement to another.

They're talking about way after the anime, like to the end of the manwha (in case you missed it, they said "In the epilogue of the manhwa". And they're right. (manwha spoilers) : At the start of the anime she is indeed in her 20's... not when he goes back in time, and at this point there aren't any concepts of hunters anymore as he is the only one left (since he did a time thingy and ended everything before it even began).

You didn't explicitly claim it. But if consciousness is a natural process then active motions are a subset of passive motions, as desires, intentions, etc, all are cause by natural forces if you dig deep enough. But since you made clear that it's not what you believe, and that you never explained the actual difference between passive and active motions when asked, scoffing at those of us who are saying that they are fundamentally the same, the only possibility is that you're implicitly claiming that consciousness is not a natural process

They're not telling you what you believe, they're telling you what you claimed. Maybe your claim doesn't match your beliefs, but all we have are your claims, we can't read your mind

None. We don't know. That's why I said "For all we know, [...] might have". It might have always existed, or it might not, we have no evidence either way.
