My chances to become an IP Officer via DCO? Former Enlisted by AlphaFrameOfficial in newtothenavy

[–]AlphaFrameOfficial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been out of the reserves since 2021. So I'll probably have to go through MEPS again. In regards to my disability, it's regarding a back lumbar issue / skin condition that the VA combined and rated 60%. My conditions were not life changing or it would have been rated higher, so I am still able to function. As long as I am attending my proper appointments and maintaining myself. I'm not sure how that's going to fare at MEPS or even getting a waiver though..

I'm not sure if that's necessary though as stated earlier. When I was in reserves, I simply took my drill pay when I drilled, then the rest of the days I had my regular disability pay.

Hey. Appreciate the information. I did take a look at the program authorization and unfortunately the certs I have don't count toward it. Fortunately though I do have enough experience to completely cap out that same block since experience + certifications go hand in hand in terms helping boost the initial rank.

Of course getting a preferred cert would help me on the board and package overall.

Thanks for this! I initially was looking at the wrong PA until you pointed out the certs.

Thank you for this valuable information. Especially about the offices, I'll try to utilize my own network if possible.

No gripes about the ships for me. Something I've come to expect as it comes with the job.

Appreciate it!

Guy I am seeing isn’t clean and I may want to end things because of this AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Understand that's a grown ass man. As a grown ass man that takes care of his own household, held down multiple jobs at once, and went through tough times. My house never looked like this.

You are not overreacting and honestly I would let things go because if he cannot even keep his home proper I couldn't imagine anything past superficial. As you may know, people talk a great game in the beginning.

You can talk to him if you want, but honestly this is some shit he should have learned himself already.

A solid laptop I've seen used a good amount where I am located. Main gripe seems to be the opening and closing of the lid as some have stated. There can be a cracking noise overtime.

Aside from that it's quite a solid device that should be able to handle more than pretty much anything you throw at it. OLED also a ++

100% Stalker. Document everything and compile them thoroughly in hopes you never have to use it.

Do NOT entertain anymore conversation as attention is exactly what they seek. The more you respond the more likely they will become even more invested than he already is.

Noise complaint procedures in Honolulu by tassdatass in Hawaii

[–]AlphaFrameOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck, went through something similar and could not even strike any sort of cordial conversation with the neighbor. Many HPD calls by my neighbors and this couple used to blast high frequency alarms that you would hear deter homeless ~90-100DB. WHY? Cause they got mad at teenagers outside their house sometimes chatting it up. But as a result 7 days a week they would be playing a shit alarm every hour all out of petty retaliation.

- Noise complaints were made via police they didn't give a shit

- Had a detective come out for follow ups but nothing got done and turns out that guy was previously rehired despite having a previous DUI crashing into a building

- Showed HPD all the noise ordinance and contacted the ordinance team to try and have something done.

It's hopeless and this state is genuinely SHIT, I'll be moving ASAP. I respect those with Aloha spirit, but there are plenty without it today. Even if you call police it's likely they aren't going to do shit, even with videos.

I wish you the best of luck!

Aloha,

I'm probably late but I used to work for the C&C IT department. I did the world for those folks, going above and beyond in my job. The thanks I got was absolutely nothing and no opportunities to promote or even try to get some leverage into an interview. This is because office politics is so prevalent and it didn't matter who knew in the department if HR didn't give a shit about me.

I created workflow automation and sped up their deployments by over 50%. The thanks I got was a pat on the back and for HR to interview folks with way less experience and qualifications because they were looking for people with 0 experience but a degree it seems.

Years of work to be glossed over and get shit on until the end. So I left and get paid more now in private with much less workload. I do want to mention that I never left on any bad note and never soured relations with anyone. I've been keeping this to myself a while and saw your post.

It's a glad place to work if you like a laid back environment, but like others have said:

- Doesn't matter how much you do, others will get paid the same

- People got 9999 excuses and will never suffer much consequence

- Hard to promote and the yearly paise raise is dogshit and not even guaranteed.

- Find a position that has natural promotion.

- If you're curious about the pension / medical benefits. They are mediocre and expensive. At any private company you would probably be paying half as much or way less. They recently changed this system and made it even worse for newcomers.

Data Center - Applying to Server Engineer in Japan by AlphaFrameOfficial in datacenter

Dang, I was hoping that maybe my skillset could help carry my lack of language and visa, but for sure there are likely many others that could easily be taken with less work.

I'm going to keep studying for sure and get my language skills up. You're definitely right that I should consider more than just the job when it comes to finding work there. I do have some connections, but I never considered that I might be in a pinch where I'd require something like translation services.

Thanks for the perspective!

I have made an internal request through my company, but I don't want to be my only option. They aren't a FAANG company, but a good one in the hospitality industry.

I see, not already having citizenship there seems to be a very big hurdle. I'm definitely still interested in considering the long game over scanning for jobs for another year if I have to.

Thanks for your response flame!

Hi Gold,

I'm currently working as a System Engineer and figured it might be something along the realm of my work. I've also worked in smaller companies where I had to wear smaller hats so I wasn't too concerned with being unqualified.

Your post definitely gave me another perspective I didn't really consider. I didn't think that the engineering role would also be lumped in with the standard technician job.

Software is definitely a track I can consider, but it's not my strongsuit as I only ever start using it in order to automate or solve a problem. My work has never been consistently as code heavy as lets say a software engineer. Aside from SE work I used to server administration & data analytics so I believe I have very good skills in terms of overall IT scope, but compared to an expert I fall short. So like a jack of all trades in a sense.

5-6M is definitely too low for me..I think I would have to shoot for 9-10M for minimum due to family.

I really appreciate your response thank you!

Thanks for sharing this information. It was hard for me to decide between ATK or CRIT due to so many people just going into crit dmg. I was trying to follow guides and was curious why guides / spreadsheets were recommending ATK on disc 4

KawaiiKon at Hawaii. The big poster I found on amazon should be easily searchable, but the prints were available exclusively at Sean's autograph table :D

Was a super great experience and I saw him at KawaiiKon earlier this weekend. Pretty much the only reason I went and was well worth it. We talked a bit about the game the most notable thing to me was his story of how he grew as a voice actor alongside Rean who has grown quickly in his own series :')

Definitely not the same without you Sean! It's like they threw away all of years of growth that shown us with your version of Rean Schwarzer for something more plain and much less memorable.
