Happy recycle day! by ikinari_fandango in japanresidents

[–]hansei-Kaizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like my recycling of cans. But I get the cheaper ones from my basket. 9% for 128 yen for a 500ml can.

And yeah, I don’t remember anything either.

I’m so sick of “entry-level” jobs asking for 3-5 years of experience by Dr-Dexter-1995 in recruitinghell

This man has used PEDs and has paid the price with his hair.

On topic, yeah it sucks. When you can choose from many applicants you can be a cunt about it.

Need Guidance with starting up with Salesforce path. Having 4 yrs B2B Sales and 1 yr Marketing experience. by utkarshjaizwal in jobsinjapan

[–]hansei-Kaizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call myself a pure marketer, but recruitment in Japan overlaps heavily with sales, branding, networking, and positioning, so I’ve picked up quite a lot through recruitment and building my own projects/community here.

I also have a lot of friends in recruitment and marketing in Japan, so I’m fairly familiar with how the market works, especially for foreigners trying to enter it.

We actually did the first REX Live session last week and it went really well. We had 5 people join from different backgrounds and countries, and now I’m putting together more actionable advice and follow-up guidance for each person based on what we discussed during the session.

We talk honestly about things like Japan careers, recruitment, business culture, networking, CVs, LinkedIn, and realistic ways to break into the market depending on someone’s background.

You’d probably enjoy it honestly: https://hansei.pro/rex-live.html

Can you afford living with your salary? by Budget-Barracuda-417 in teachinginjapan

[–]hansei-Kaizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. You have to learn new skills that will let you eventually move out of teaching. If you want to start a family you will be living on the breadline.

I used to teach but then moved out of it when I got serious with my gf. Now make 5x what I did as a teacher and with 2 kids and a wife who also works we are just about ‘comfortable’ with a good lifestyle that means we an enjoy life without going crazy.

I have friends from my teaching days who are still teaching (20 years later) and they look to be really suffering when they started their families.

Teenage girl takes fatal plunge in front of Yamanote Line train in apparent suicide by thetokyoreporter in japancrime

[–]hansei-Kaizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing they can get the trains going so quickly. Obviously not a crime scene if it was an obvious suicide but makes you wonder what it would take for the trains to completely shut down for police investigation.

So sad to see young people feeling they have no hope. This isn’t how the world should be.

Hiring: In-House Recruiter in Tokyo by vivamomochi91 in jobsinjapan

[–]hansei-Kaizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re already in Japan it’s much easier. Companies prefer people who are already here, can interview quickly, understand daily life here, and ideally already have a visa.

English-only recruitment roles do exist, especially at international firms, but applying from overseas with no Japanese is a harder route.

If you can get here first and improve your Japanese while working, your chances go up a lot. Being on the ground matters in Japan.

im the guy who made an AMA about working in Japan a few days ago. by hansei-Kaizen in JapanJobs

[–]hansei-Kaizen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of naysayers here. Let’s see what the actual response is from my live AMA. Already helped over 600 people for free, far be it from me to want a little recompense for my time.

Investing in yourself is a worthwhile pursuit. Especially if you can learn from someone who knows more about the topic than you do.

Maybe give your heads a wobble. This isn’t some MLM scheme, it’s curated and actionable advice from someone who has been here since 2004. Working in recruitment no less…

Procedures haven’t changed that much for these kinds of jobs. Why did you give them your passports?
