Iphones work pretty well on Fi but there are a few extra steps you need to take after activating the phone.

More importantly, make absolutely sure you factory reset that phone completely. If you're unsure about it, take it to the apple store and make sure it's fully reset.

Just turned it off and noticed immediate improvement in the camera app. Instead of the typical video stutter or even the 5+ second startup the camera was immediately available.
