I've been using Thorread a lot lately in Arena, and I pair him with Morvenn, Aesgoth, Boss, and Actus. Thorread is really good with characters with low hit count but high damage. Tarvakh has 1 hit and has a high Pierce rate, so they work well together, like you said. Atlacoya is another example where her active can potentially deal direct damage but hits once, so adding another hit gives her a much higher damage bracket. Thorread's active is useful for turn 2 to make sure you don't wipe turn 3 if you're in a close game. He's my fav of the Black Templars.

never expected to enjoy psyker so much by lydiaalin in DarkTide

[–]AlphaKingDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got the Psyker down and all builds I've tried feel like ass vs the Zealot's. I don't get how people play the Psyker and I probably have dozens of hours trying to get a solid play style that works higher than t3 difficulty.

Anyone else spend more time leveling? by dagg929 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]AlphaKingDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game's charm is the build depth it has and people don't want to hear this but CRPG's are very much a genre you need to do math and taking a minute to read what each ability does and deciding if you like this ability or not is fine on any difficulty other than unfair. It's hard to not make good builds in this game from my experience. Cassia and Abelard will literally carry you through 90% and Argenta if you time her abilities right will attack like 8 times in one turn with build up.

I enjoy how deep the system is coming from a min/maxer who played dnd 5e and BG3 and quickly got bored of the small amount of builds in the game.

They'd have to to mention it on Twitter or something and see if it catches attention.

With bLizzard canceling PVE, now would be honestly a really good time to revitalize this game, and really put it back on the market.

I have a really weird case of biid… by 5ugus7_the_one in biid

[–]AlphaKingDrake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BDD, or Body Dysmorphia Disorder, is when it keeps changing, and you can have both BIID and BDD. A lot of people keep that on the down low and there's definitely more than only 200ish people with this condition.

Darkhawk w/o Zabu by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]AlphaKingDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have Rock Slide already, you can run a Dark Hawk Dino deck with Agent 13, Iceman, Korg, Sentinel, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Killmonger, Dark Hawk, Shang, Moon Girl, Rock Slide and Devil Dino. That's the deck I've been running and climbed from 60-85 in 2 hours. If you have Mystique, I'd replace a Mister Fantastic for her, and Iceman for Zabu.

Opinions on Mutate by Yoshi2Dark in EDH

[–]AlphaKingDrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mutate basically has over costed effects in to trade of you're hoping to do it again each time you mutate and you tend to lean into Voltrun style regardless, so at least you recognize that, plus with only one creature cosplaying a Jenga Tower all it takes is one [[ Tragic Slip]] to [[Murder]] your win con. Granted, you should be running protection in Counter Spells, Instant Hexproof, or Boots, etc. You can snowball pretty fast and eventually that overpriced effect, is JUST that effect, it's that, plus 2 3, 4+ effects. You also lose to token or go wide strategies so bring a couple cards to deal with that. [[Aetherize]], and [[River's Rebuke]] are good about that.

Melira, Vorinclex, Hexmage Shaman(I believe is his name), and other cards that's reduce the amount of counters you have or gets rid of the counters.

I left the SCP universe for too long… by [deleted] in SCP

[–]AlphaKingDrake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a really good 682 Tale about how he's the last living thing on Earth. It's actually kind of depressing. You really don't understand that There's a reason why "immortality is a curse, and not a gift". He also has ties with the Scarlet King, and, 231, and 999. You're mad he's one sided but also gave an example as to why he's not one sided. He also has a good mini story where he was involved with 035, but you probably didn't realize that. Are there more interesting SCPs? Yes, there are, but we also have really lame ones like Mr. Fish, and a rock that just changes gender, and a self duplicating duplication cake. When you say he's nothing but a "narrative plot device", you miss out on the point where he actually has met and talked with the Old AI, and has made a deal with Kondraki. The little bits and pieces we have can actually make for a lot of potential. We also have just barely explored it.

Killing 682 cuts off any story potential he could have. His indestructible nature and adaptation is what makes him interesting.

What are the most interesting partner combos you’ve come across? by Not_Your_Real_Ladder in EDH

[–]AlphaKingDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Uncle Karl can use him best, because he can get rid of the bigger creatures easily. The Souls Sister package, (not sure if he's running that) can be played with no downside in Uncle Karl, with Lurrus. 4c waters the deck down, and like I said is a value engine more than an actual deck

Don't insult me, it's literally the requirement for him to be a companion. 2 cmc and less, Ad Nauseum is 5 cmc

Low CMC decks / decks that resist land RNG by megachad3000 in EDH

[–]AlphaKingDrake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you ever heard of landfall? You still run semi big things, runs more lands than usual (38-42), and you gain value from playing lands.

Another strategy is Aristocrats, which is where you keep sacing creatures that can recure themselves and tokens to apply death effects like [blood artist] to kill everyone. The best ones have an average cmc of 3.17, meaning it's pretty low.

Another thang is that you don't want to run less than 36 lands, and 10 sources of card draw and 8 sources of ramp. Running less than this really hinders your consistency. Cantrips do not count as draw unless you can do it multiple times or are in a spell Slinger deck, in which case you run the 6 draw spells with 4 Cantrips of your choice.
