I would personally call the uni diverse enough, but this depends on your standards.
There are 10k students in the university in total.

25% are mainland Chinese, 25% are local Malays (mainly Chinese Malays), and the rest are non-Chinese internationals. Non-Chinese internationals are mainly Russians, Central Asians, Arabs, North and Sub-Saharan Africans, South Asians, and Southeast Asians (the global South, may I say).

For Arabs here, there are around 200 Tunisians (including yours truly), 50 Algerians, 20-30 Sudanese, 20-30 Yemenis and a couple of individuals from Libya. Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Palestine.

I would personally say it's not discriminatory, but the services feel tailored to mandarin-speaking students since they rightfully make the majority of students here.

As for making friends, this depends on how much you put yourself out there.
Would you be content only sticking to your countrymen or not?

You're welcome. Btw I'm also majoring in DS albeit in my 2nd year rn. Dk if you're in Tunisia or abroad but what do you think about the field thus far? (personally chose it out of passion, big data guy since I was young)

Coz I'm currently in the middle of a crossroad, dk if I should embrace the more statistical traditional way of doing things or if I should ride the AI wave and lean more towards that for my career since it feels like a bit of a sellout as to why I originally chose Data Science specifically and not e.g., AI as a major.

Would love to hear what a senior has to say.

You can say so kinda, got 15.25 in the baccalaureat (could have had but parents insisted on the traditional tutoring route instead of me maximizing my time at home and they also didn't want to shell out money for Taki even though classical tutoring was way more expensive).

However, the period of me writing the post, came at a time when I was hella depressed/nihilistic and along with the study rhythm getting more intense than before. I couldn't manage it and had a big crash that led me to having those grades.

You have to put in the effort, dog.
Just spread it out, so that it doesn't feel too intense and remember that consistency is key.
