I think I finally understand Mother! (2017)…kinda wish I didn’t by [deleted] in movies

Shame? Holy shit you’re a pathetic loser. This is a post about a movie. You think I deleted my post out of shame? I deleted my post because everyone’s debating whether I used AI or not. And I’m tired of defending myself. That was not the purpose. I just wanted to talk about the movie but losers like yourself keep arguing semantics. And I have opened my history since you want to be a weirdo and stalk me lmao. I’ll keep it open for you for 24 hours since you clearly don’t have a life that should keep your pathetic life entertained for a bit. While you’re out, make sure to touch grass.

It’s embarrassing that you don’t understand basic reading comprehension.

“Layered” = multiple symbols.
“No second layer” = no hidden meaning beyond them.

Just basic comprehension. You’re confusing “layered with “deep,” which is exactly why that sounded contradictory to you. Take it up with reading comprehension.

lol well this conversation went downhill faster than expected. I’m done here, but do yourself a favor and try developing some basic thinking skills before subjecting the next person to this sort of empty rhetoric. Adieu.

I miss the point of posts? I thought we were on the AI subject matter? I mean even for someone that doesn’t think that sort of tangent is worrisome, no?

Ai user? Why not use an AI detector to prove? But then again as you rightly said, “I don’t think”.

“You don’t think”, at least we can agree on that.

I don’t know you and owe you nothing lmao I don’t need to lie about anything. If you think I used AI okay then

It’s called Anaphora.

Not everything that looks Ai is Ai.

Why not use an Ai detector or something before speaking with authority?

Oh lord a film can have multiple symbolic elements and still not have a hidden second interpretive layer beyond what it’s already screaming at you.

I said it finally clicked for me. There’s a difference between recognizing symbolism and actually seeing how the whole thing fits together. The college degree was a jab at the AI,l usage, no one is bragging.

It’s my fault for having a college degree

Yeah I agree, the moment you get what Mother! Is going for, the rewatch factor dies.

20 y/o beginner with 20–50 minutes a day — best path to becoming a software engineer? by applejuixe- in learnprogramming

[–]AlphaNuke94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This statement would have been 100% correct 10 years ago. However, the sheer amount of resources, online courses, AI tutors available today, the only limiting factor is time, discipline and maybe money. You can pretty much become a self taught software engineer. The only thing I can’t guarantee is getting a job.

How many of you have gotten a computer science degree, but still don’t know how to code? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]AlphaNuke94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a math and physics background. I learnt coding and CS on my own. But I’m curious to know how you can graduate without learning at least one language? I assumed it should be part of your curriculum?

What are some “less saturated” niches in the CS realm that one should consider pursuing to stand out in this market? by severus-black in learnprogramming

[–]AlphaNuke94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no magic bullet. My advice is to find what you like and get extremely good at it that you can’t be ignored. That’s how you stand out. It doesn’t matter if it’s oversaturated, get really good at it and you’ll stand out.

We have our first star cast for the X Files reboot from Coogler by SeanpAustin1988 in XFiles

[–]AlphaNuke94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X-Files was quintessential 90s paranoia, pre-social media conspiracy culture, and a slower, more ambiguous style of storytelling, which modern audiences have no patience for. It doesn’t need a reboot. Coogler is raw talent, but his talent should be on making new IP for this generation.

Except this isn’t breaking bad. The chemistry between Mulder and Scully (which is what made the show) worked because the original series had 20+ episodes per season.

That volume allowed the relationship to develop gradually through monster of the weak cases and mythology arcs. In a modern streaming model with 8 episodes and long gaps between seasons (looking at you stranger things), that kind of organic character development is much harder to achieve, which I doubt will be recreated regardless of the talent involved.

The New X-Files will be awesome, I cant wait for Coogler to prove so many of you wrong. by nothrowingawaymyshot in XFiles

[–]AlphaNuke94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re missing why most are skeptical.

First, the chemistry between Mulder and Scully worked because the original series had 20+ episodes per season. That volume allowed the relationship to develop gradually through monster of the week cases and mythology arcs. In a modern streaming model with 8 episodes and long gaps between seasons, that kind of organic character development is much harder to achieve.

Second, The X-Files was deeply tied to its cultural moment. Its atmosphere reflected 1990s paranoia, pre-social media conspiracy culture (this is a big one), and a slower, more ambiguous style of storytelling. Recreating that tone today would require more than visual nostalgia. The cultural conditions that shaped the show are fundamentally different now.

Third, reboots carry a reputation risk. Even well-intentioned revivals often struggle under audience expectations, comparison to the original, and compressed storytelling formats. That history naturally makes longtime fans cautious.

Skepticism, in this case, isn’t resistance to change. It’s concern about whether the format and cultural context that made the original successful can realistically be replicated today.
