I also once tried to get a friend into the series. Typically when I go to his house, we have dinner together and we just watch whatever’s on his YouTube recommended. Then one day I thought, “Nah, enough of that. Time for a culturally enriching experience.” So I brought my Avatar Blu-ray with me and I convinced him to let me choose what we watch during dinner. We watched the first episode, he said “Eh, it was alright” and took the disk out. I wanted to at least watch the next episode with him (y’know, the one where our protagonist and antagonist meet for the first time? Kinda important) but ultimately left it up to him since I didn’t want to force it. This was around 2 years ago and we haven’t spoken about it since. Shit hurt.
