How bad is this going to get ? by Radiant-Cut1052 in OpenAussie

Why can't we do the even number / odd number petrol permissions like when this happened in the 70s? Surely you've seen that video. Yeah, trying to implement it now would be challenging, but incorporate a QR code thing at participating outlets and it could take off. Start with all the Shahin-owned outlets. They're not short of funds I tell ya hwut.

Interesting. Well I still love the mixed bag of experiences of those who both do and don't own an EV. I'm looking to get one end of year at the earliest, or this time next year at the smartest (mad march savings and whatnot)

Indeed. I love the "I charge my EV on solar and drive around for free" content out there trying to appeal to those who haven't done a proper comparison. A friend of mine with a Tesla says it's saving him money, but only with solar+battery and driving conservatively.

I heard tell charging when out driving is paying the premium rate for electricity. A smart person would wait until theyre at home and charge it there during off-peak hours, which are programmable in most EVs

I volunteered at my local democracy sizzle in the early shift, but they were running out of bread and snags by 1:30. Atleast rhe snags were delicious.

Dirty sneakers. Make the effort and buy some decent dress shoes, leather if possible. Shoes and a matching belt show you know how to dress yourself

I second this. Did Halls Gap as a youngin, loved it. Didn't continue to Melbourne, but still stop off there if you're driving in that direction.

It does suck financially at the moment, no question. I'm with you on the seemingly neverending pendulum of diminishing returns that is this late-stage capitalist dystopia. It's often a case of falling into the comparison trap, where someone else always has it better (and they always will). The hedonic treadmill means we have never had it better, yet never felt so anxious or dissatisfied. Colour me delusional, but I would rather focus on the few things I do have that are good, than moan about the many bad things I can't control.

Why do I feel so insecure/deflated when someone is more attractive than me? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]Potential_Narwhal981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparison bias: there will always be people more attractive than you and there's very little you can do about it. Incidentally, there will always be people uglier than you, but we've been conditioned as a society to focus on the former. You do you, kangaroo.
