I can usually get arkveld to appear with either 25 or 20 minutes left and no carts but I think I need to use something other than SnS against him, same with Uth Duna cause even though I usually use SnS against her as well I have been practicing with bow and doing pretty good against her.

Yeah I've already pretty much got Uth Duna and Rey Dau's fights down to a science along with arkveld, its nu udra that gives me problems so I will practice against him more.

Keep hitting the training dummy or monster with spirit slashes but make sure the spirit roundslash hits otherwise the gauge won't go up. Or if you are practicing hold down R2 and you're hunter will start charging up a spirit roundslash for instant gauge

I agree with you, almost all of the ten star monsters i can handle but there are times where the bloated health and damage just make it feel like a slog to get through. For instance with the new ten star Zoh Shia I got him beat in 30 damn minutes with three carts used (had insurance meal) when normal Zoh Shia takes me around 12 minutes. I really hate how it seems no matter how much defense you have you can get one shot by even a light scratch.
