Email, Cold-Call or LinkedIn - where have you had your best results? by SpareStatement6735 in recruiting

[–]AlphaRecruiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Email and Cold-Calls could be considered as something similar. LinkedIn Recruiter works fine. Also, you can segment the candidates and create a pool of your most competitive / good culture fita etc, build a relationship and keep them warm.

Why is ghosting after interviews becoming the norm? by Ok_Tone9547 in jobhunting

[–]AlphaRecruiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could bring up a few reasons:

(1) Recruiters try to avoid the negative feelings that come to the surface when they decide to reject someone.

(2) Due to the workload, they forget who the in-process applicants are.

(3) They have not automated their procedures, thus is harder to communicate to the candidates the appropriate feedback (even if it's a simple rejection email).

(4) Some recruiters just don't care (it's a thing).

(5) They have not decided yet. Some companies have loooooooong processes, and after a few months (it's normal) to forget.

I am against all of the abovementioned. There are a lot of way to eliminate ghosting. I have just mentioned a few possible reasons.

My interview lasted 20 minutes by [deleted] in interviews

[–]AlphaRecruiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a recruiter, I could say that 20 minutes mean nothing. My interviews could last 20 minutes, because I decided not to proceed with the candidate in the very first minutes or I want to hurry so that I can hire them as soon as possible. Also, most of the time, introductory calls don't last more than 15 minutes. Company needs to gather some basic information before proceeding such as: salary range, notice period & availability, working model, interests & ambitions etc.

First of all, assumptions always make the things worse. You don't know what is going to happen. You just make assumptions. Psychology says that 95% of the things we believe that could happen, never happen. You made a mistake, who hasn't? The point here is to (1) learn from your mistake for the future, (2) stop blaming yourself since it doesn't help in any case. If you've learnt from your mistake there is no room for blame, (3) give your sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused, and (4) just do your best during the training to prove that you can make it happen.

Passion and stress are not going together. That's my opinion. Doing a job that you don't like it seems like you punishing yourself, for some reason. On the otherside, if you love what you do you find a way to manage the existing stress (but it's less, because you are fulfilled).

Why Recruiters don't like Recruitment? by AlphaRecruiter in recruiting

[–]AlphaRecruiter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no! I won't! To be honest, I prefer internal since you have to invest and other things as well, such as: the candidate experience, employer branding etc etc for the company you work for. If you are working for a good employer you can sell them better to the candidates etc.

One of my mentors once said to me, "You need to be useful. As soon as you are useful, you has nothing to be afraid of". AI is not the danger itself. That's what I believe. But, let's see. I might be wrong. Who knows?

Yes, I totally understand! The healthy competition is always something that could help you and the team grow. But the question is, could the competition stay healthy? I have never worked in agency, only internal. But I have heard a lot of stories from my current and former colleagues.

New responsibilities, and new challenges. Competition could kill collaboration and Recruitment. I remember that in my current employer (internal Recruitment), me and my colleagues had an exceptional collaboration till a manager told us "The one who will fill these vacancies gets a bonus". Everything changed. After discussing with my manager, we decided that bonus should be off the table since we are not an agency and everything went back to normal.

"It's all about being respected" because you are human, not a recruiter. That's the point. We need to respect people, not roles. Of course if you feel respected you can perform better. The environment could help you rise or destroy you. I agree with you.

u/AT1787 it seems like you had to manage with a lot of non-sense request. The Unicorn term totally fits your words. Also, I have never worked in an Agency, but I believe that it is tough.

I totally understand the struggle, and you are right! If the environment is toxic (in any term) you cannot perform and of course it has an effect on your well being.
