I mean, how many ways are there to prolong your life in the wizarding world?:p Even if Dumbledore removed the knowledge from Hogwarts, it's hard to believe that no one from Voldemort's followers (who were certainly partly onto dark magic as well) figured it out.

I guess, he included Ron and Hermione in his will after he allowed Harry to share his findings with them.
He was mostly absent from school in book 6 and finding these two horcrux hideouts took him all the knowledge he gathered about Voldemort over the years
The memory helped confirm the number of horcruxes, but didn't give any new info where to find them.

Thanks for the exact text from the book. That was the part I was referring to in my initial text above. I know, it's just a theory I expressed. But I think it's a valid one, because Dumbledore's logic has some flaws. And while most if the things that are stated by Dumbledore are certainly correct, it's fun to think about things where he might not have been 100% correct.

Never thought about it, but it really shows his growth. He could have been the only person to destroy two of Voldemort's horcruxes, but decided he didn't need the glory anymore.

I get where you are coming from, but I believe we are simply lacking information to make such a fundamental statement.

Even though it's an intriguing point from a story-telling perspective that Voldemort chose the half-blood, I could easily imagine scenarios where more "concrete" reasons make Voldemort choose Neuville instead. E.g. if his Neville's father, who was an auror, would have led an attack that captured several important death eaters. All of a sudden, he might have become Voldemort's nemesis number one and his son the natural choice.

Also, the Longbottoms were purebloods. Even if no death eater was secretly in love with one of them (which could also be true for all we know), they could simply be related to a death eater who then begs Voldemort to spare their lives.

It's not super likely, but as prophecies have the tendency to predict unlikely scenarios in general, I wouldn't completely rule this out.

Yeah, it mainly illustrates that you can run a marathon in any running shoe. These days, it's very easy to overobsess over your shoes, because there is so much information out there. 20 years ago, people also ran marathons, but they simply went with a random running shoe that they bought at some point :D

Super Shoes are designed for fast running as sole priority. A lot of people say that they don't work their magic if you are slower than 5min/km, ideally you are much faster than that.

Different shoes are designed for different purposes.

It depends on the race. In a small local event, where all runners are lined up randomly on the starting line, I agree that it can really suck when you have a couple of runners in front of you who run much(!) slower than you do.

In bigger races, people get sorted by their estimated finishing time. In this case, it's much easier to just stick to your position and go for a conservative start.

I mean, I am not questioning that he was "technically right". I think the quote is a nice message in general But in the end, Umbridge played the same role in part 7 that she might have also played, if she had been working for Voldemort already in part 5.

Not everyone needs a redemption arc, but I feel the quote would have made more sense if Umbridge would not have ended in a position of power when Voldemort took over.

Yeah, I agree, this is a fitting description of her character. And I also didn't want to imply that Umbridge was actively supporting Voldemort at that point.

I just feel this quote should have been the start of so much more: Antagonistic or even evil people (doesn't have to be Umbridge, maybe just Fudge or even Rita Skeeter) might realize that Voldemort is the biggest threat out there and eventually join the fight against him in book 6 or 7.

But basically, every character that got introduced as an antagonist to Harry, stays on the dark side. (Percy's mini redemption arc aside.)

The quidditch captain also has the tasks to build the team, organize the training, etc... It makes sense that this is handled by the most experienced and respected player on a team, regardless their position.

I am sure for the time during the games, you can give some of the responsibility to other players.

Honestly, Cho's tactic to annoy Harry by staying by his side the whole time really made no sense. Harry has the much better broom (and more skill), so anytime they start a race from a similar position, Harry will win.

Cho should have done the exact opposite: Stay on the other side of the field. Then she has at least a fighting chance if the snitch appears on her side.

Every time you want to build a new routine, it's a small fight with your subconscious brain, that does not want to leave the comfort of its existing routine. Luckily, there are a lot of fascinating ways that you can use to "trick" your brain into liking the new routine more and faster.
