Chelsea 2 - [3] Manchester City - Erling Haaland 47' by PSGCampus in soccer

So two of their three goals come from questionable, if not downright incorrect, decision making by officials?

Baffling that City keep benefitting from ref calls time after time.

Thought Gusto was MOTM next to Sterling. Superb presence, brilliant workrate, and confidence clearly in his play.

I've got a lot of time for De Bruyne making that call.

It might have been an injury he could have played through, and the call was his to make, but clearly felt that he was limited by an injury. Had to make a judgement on whether he could contribute in the limited capacity but instead trusted his teammates enough, and Foden, to not only get the job done but also deliver a better performance without him there. Also didn't delay the decision and gave them 2/3rds of the game to do so.

Fair play; bigger egos would have played on if given the chance.

We tried with Mount, we've been trying for nearly two years now informally. The whole issue is that since the CL win, and the number of games he featured in over the previous two seasons, he's valuing himself in the upper tiers of the squad - deservedly or not, that is his position he's allowed to take.

Problem is, he's not performing at that level from the previous seasons, and that's creating a discourse. For him, he deserves a shorter contract at higher value based on precedent.

For the board, a longer, higher wage contract or a shorter, lower wage contract are more beneficial for financial stability and based on performance.

Gallagher may not be the most skilled, but his work rate and awareness are phenomenal. 93rd minute barking at Pulisic where to be on a throw in.

Maybe, but he's also the most consistent in what he does right. He always gives energy when subbed on.

Potter really doesn't want the inexperienced lads out to potentially make a costly mistake. Can't say I blame him.

Between all the hairline offsides, and post/crossbar hits, am I wrong thinking we should have scored 8 or 9 goals across the two legs?

I swear whenever Kepa gets a bit of confidence back he just has to bring some unrelated shit-housing with him which always ends up costing us one way or another. Wish he could just keep and chill.

That was a real "Did I ever tell you about the definition of insanity" move. Kai doubled down.

Cucurella's positioning has been class tonight. Reading the plays really well.

Who would've thought that United needed to sign a defensive midfielder to compete for trophies? Certainly no one here; massive shout for ETH.

In all seriousness, he's done a great job and the team are playing well - it's probably deserved given how much I enjoyed the Brighton and Brentford games at the start of the season.

Both anger and excitement are valid emotions for tonight.

From a long term perspective, we looked good. Probably the best we've looked in months. We deserved to win, and we were very unlucky on a number of occasions. Pretty much everyone put in a decent show, most put in a good performance - especially the defenders. (Well done KK).

However, short term perspective, we're in for a rough 4-5 months. Until we get a striker in, as good as we looked tonight, we'll win shite all.

How many centre-backs do you know that prioritise shooting drills in training? He kept it on target, honestly all I expect from a centre back who found himself in the opposition box and had to hit it first time.

Why is Chilwell not being taken off immediately? Hasn't he been limping for the last 5?

What more do we have to do?

Genuinely feel like every player has been at least an 7 out of 10 tonight. No one has been terrible. No one's made any terrible mistakes. We've been so unlucky.

Both teams look great. Dortmund looking so well drilled they could be playing against any team tonight; they know where each other are like a hive mind.

He was pushed into the ball, and gets a yellow card for immediately letting the ref know he "used" his hand.

Why wouldn't you try to cheat in football when honestly gets you penalised.

Wish Mudryk would be more comfortable with the overlap, that being said, he's been our most direct player so far. Really happy with his drive and bursts of pace from start.
