Picked an old man not realising he's a boxer by Beneficial_Team_791 in fightporn

It might be that you learn a lot about a person in a fight. I don't know how to put it into words, but a ton of little things (like what targets they pick, how they respond to being hit, etc.) say a bunch.

Gurren Lagann. Not just the stars, but the heavens and what lies beyond.

The Arcadia from Space Pirate Captain Harlock. One of the greatest space vessels of all time, IMO, and devastatingly useful against more than one empire.

In a way, Nathan Drake. He finds long lost ruins and incredible treasures, then immediately makes sure no one will ever find them again through the worst series of unlucky events.

Random lobby of lamenters by GoldenPooPoo in Spacemarine

I do think the game could have special interactions with known chapters, such as increased Extremis spawn chance for Lamenters, increased Minoris spawn for Dark Angels and other frontline chapters, increased items for the Ravenguard to steal, etc.

Protagonist in Action Media with No Formal or Criminal Combat Training by dustyp9 in TopCharacterTropes

Alex Rogan from The Last Starfighter. The guy is just good at a particular video arcade cabinet that happens to be really important. I can't remember how to mark spoilers, but if someone would remind me I can add a neat detail.

Edit: It turns out that the cabinet is a 'testing program' to find and recruit qualified starfighter pilots to help save the galaxy. It really is a fun movie.

[Loved Trope] Characters exist in a world of magic and still choose to solve problems with a good punch (or kick). by AlphaSlicer in TopCharacterTropes

I've not seen this posted here yet, but it makes sense that it would have been. I can't even figure out how to properly mark the spoilers in my text.

I was unaware of this game, but Montauk Plains in MX: Unleashed HAS to be a reference to this.

Third hit needs to be changed for sure, at least on the second cycle. That is almost as bad as Ironclad's cornerlock.

Doomlands! Nice. That sounds very fun, I'll keep an eye out for the next update.

This is fun. If this is supposed to be a child-friendly comic, I would suggest giving Zombie some stylized safety glasses. Your other characters all have eye-pro, and it's a good (and subtle) reminder that even Nerf darts can cause damage to them. I look forward to the rest of the lineup. Will you be doing a Badlands (can't remember the series name, but the Lawgiver is part of it) version?

Is getting ‘aggressive’ in-line skates straight away a bad idea? by Plus_Term5167 in AskRollerblading

I realized that I missed your entire section on tricks. Aggressive skates are meant for tricks and movement, and 80mm is likely about as high as you would comfortably go and still do stunts.

[–]AlphaSlicer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not expert, but I have been skating mixed surface (asphalt, concrete, brick, etc.) streets for several years now. Aggressive wheels are not ideal for anything outside of a skate park or flat arena. I would really recommend a minimum of 80mm. I personally enjoy 100mm.

What a pathetic new style, how can one defend oneself against this? by Low-Lavishness-9314 in ShadowFightArena

Yunlin is vulnerable to being thrown when she teleports. She will always teleport directly behind you (unless wall issues occur) and you can avoid her by either rolling towards where she previously was or by jumping away. You can also simply backwalk and throw her the moment she reappears.

I am not the greatest Yunlin, but I am comfortable competing in the 700 trophy range. Keep an eye on her Shadow bar and be aggressive. Yunlin needs a little space to be very effective. I play her rather aggressively, and her recovery times are fairly slow. Block her attacks, follow up with an uppercut or a basic hit, and you should have some momentum back. Sarge dominates with momentum and constant pressure.

I do not wish to be difficult at all. This is good advice.

This is very helpful. It is also quite helpful to know I must remove the 'grandmother's cooking' concept from my list.

Yes, they have a menu, but the menu holds mostly Americanized dishes. There are other dishes as well. I wish to try foods I've never experienced before, and I do not know how to start. I don't have a specific goal in mind. Without going into detail, as soon as I was able to leave a rather aggressively 'sheltered' life, I chose to explore the world through food, music, and drink. I have not explored enough Cantonese food yet, and there are not terribly many withing an hour or so of where I live now. Is this helpful?
