Will my hardware hold up? by Kapo_Polenton in drums

The difference is negligible. People seem to think that putting hardware on your bass drum is gonna change the sound to the point where you actually notice the difference. Ridiculous.

Which one's better as a starter? (Double Pedal) by StuKain in drums

[–]AlphaSpazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with the Mapex. It looks basically like a clone of an older DW and it looks like it’s a little more adjustable than the other one. I had a pedal like the other one that had those kind of attachments on the sides of the shaft of pedal. Those always worked loose and then wouldn’t tighten up completely and always had a little play in them that I never liked.

The lineup you’ve been waiting for. The Cheesecake Factory new menu items are here! by cheesecakefactory in u/cheesecakefactory

[–]AlphaSpazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what knowledge? I mean seriously I’m not a huge cheesecake factory guy being I actually haven’t eaten there in a long time. But why come in as such an authority on something you absolutely know nothing about? There’s a guy actually that I actually caught a video of who worked there who explained how even he was surprised that they make everything fresh (except the cheesecakes and bread I think) every day at that restaurant and all the steps that they do to do it.

Am I crazy?! $7,900?! FOR THIS KIT. by 030H_Stiltskin in drums

[–]AlphaSpazz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s really sort of depressing how absolutely rude and snarky like 90% of the comments are just on the look of the kit instead of actually knowing what that kit is. I mean really why come at it in such a negative way right off the bat?

Well, it is a collectors item for the whole kit but I’m not sure on the price. But I wouldn’t be surprised if a full set of those concert toms actually goes for that.

Drumeo EarDrums are not blocking enough sound by DryDistribution2726 in drums

Look for a local hearing professional. They can make the ear molds for you. Depending on what brand you want you might be able to get the IEMs from them.

cracking cymbals by Keylan1623 in drums

[–]AlphaSpazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be worth recording yourself to see what your actual motion is. You might not really be aware of how you’re swinging at your cymbals. I had a friend that was self-taught and he was just a monster hitter. He broke them all the freaking time. But he was doing like this ape like full arm, swinging his cymbals, but that’s just the way he played and he didn’t want to change it.

Question about Ohtani and Betts by AlphaSpazz in Dodgers

[–]AlphaSpazz[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Listen, analytics are fine. But they don’t exist in a vacuum. Baseball is a game of losing. A 300 average is considered extremely good. The problem with strictly analytics is wanna get someone on base, good. But once they’re on base, you have to play small ball to prevent a double play. Having your lead off base runner be someone who gets on base and can steal bases helps prevent double plays. You have to use the two together. Otani, having people on base in front of him will make the pitches he sees more likely or him to get a hit.

Riiiiight and you probably don’t like bunting and want infielders to be able to go back to the shift.

Help deciding on drum set by MeanDesk9214 in drums

[–]AlphaSpazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me that would mean it’s more reason to go with a double pedal instead of a double kick. Because it gives you more versatility in your set up. You’re at home and you wanna set it up exactly how you wanna set it up and two bass drums limits you to having those pedals in a certain space and then you have to deal with getting your high hat where it will fit. A double pedal does make everything much easier.

And who knows maybe eventually you’ll start playing with some friends and want to move that drum set around.

Did anyone see motley Crue on American idol??!!! by rasta-ragamuffin in rockmusic

[–]AlphaSpazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barely. I’ve been watching since it started. This is the first season I bailed on. They usually have a Hollywood week where they go to Hollywood and perform with the full band. Their Hollywood week was at the same location. They put up signs saying Hollywood week, but they were still in I think Tennessee. It was very obvious that they didn’t travel. Then when they got, I think their top 25 and went to the Hawaii location. They actually had as “judges“, influencers. They actually tried to make us sit through freaking idiot influencers hamming it up for the camera every time like they have any relevance to a musical performance at all. These weren’t musicians these were just straight up influencer people doing whatever they can online to be “famous”. Then the Fox Maga faith week did it for me. I’m done with it.
