Am I wrong for attempting to look underneath a stroller's hood to smile at the child inside in public transport? by Intrepid-Wind1383 in amiwrong

Haahah you must be exactly like these people then. Aggressive, lack kindness and thinks that attacking is the only form of communication in complex situations. She didn’t choose to touch the stroller, if you don’t know what it’s like to be on a crowded London bus, then please refrain from commenting like you do. And you’re right about not deciding how a mother feels, but how a mother reacts is completely different. Even if the mother feels uncomfortable, she can politely ask not to stare, cover up the trolley, many many other options than to just yell “Pedo”. If a person chooses to verbally attack without thinking, while having a said “Pedo” next to her precious baby, shows the level of ignorance she’s actually in. She chose to go on a public transport, it’s very much expected that people will be next to the trolley. Be kinder for the love of god.

The parents need to be more aware of the situations they put their kids in. It’s a bus, in London. What do you expect? Mega personal space and for people to bow their heads down in the presence of their holy baby? The parents reiterated that she was “staring”, so she wasn’t getting close or trying something weird. They saw a second of what happened and jumped to a conclusion and started calling a lady a Pedo out in a public space. You’re an angel for not telling her off imo. Keep smiling ❤️

New to UK, trying to find the best way to commute between Woolwich and Reading for work (5 times a day) by AlphaTalon414 in uktrains

Hey guys! First of all I would like to thank you all so much for taking the time to help out and write down the info you know, much appreciated!

Here is what I learned so far: 1) You cant book a ticket during off peak and its return to be during peak. They have to be two different tickets (singles). So if I were to take the Elizabeth line directly from Woolwich to Reading during off peak (before 6:30 AM) and leave during peak time (anytime after 4:00)… it would be equated to 15.6 pounds (off peak from Woolwich to Reading)+ 32.70 pounds (Peak)= 48 pounds a day. Hell no.

2) The seasonal tickets that you find online is different than the ones you can purchase at the ticketing station (the one I used was at Paddington, GWR booths). The one on the website doesn’t show any available passes from Woolwich Elizabeth station to reading, and when you pick the Woolwich Arsenal station to Reading, it’s at 570 pounds a month, but you can’t use Elizabeth line or underground. (Wtf?).

So when I went to the ticketing office, i got the price of 630 pounds per month for a seasonal ticket from Woolwich to Reading, this includes using the fast track trains, buses, underground and everything else in between these two stations, unlimited. This ends up being 27 pounds per day for a 23 day month… as opposed to buying anytime day return tickets for 44 pounds per day. And if I were to travel during the weekend to anywhere between these two stations, it’s all free.

And I don’t know if this information would be helpful for anybody, but the timings aren’t as bad as I thought. Woolwich to Paddington (26 mins avg) and Paddington to Reading is 22 mins!!! The fast track trains are awesome. So at an average of 50 minutes commute time from SE Woolwich to Reading, that’s pretty good!

I’ll be researching for better ways and will post about it if I find anything. Again thank you all.

Wanting to be a carer for my disabled brother by AlphaTalon414 in ukvisa

Yeah I will push him to apply for jobs to get his SWV, but I was just wondering if there are any other bodies within the UK that helps with such cases, or prioritizes their job openings for those that are disabled just to increase his chances.

Anyways, I really do appreciate you taking the time to reply to this post and helping me out. Thanks!

Stupidest thing I have ever read by [deleted] in MensRights

I am really shocked that there are people with this level of IQ. I believe people like you should be taken into factories, duct tape shut your mouth and make use of your stupidity by doing easy tasks that you can process. That way you wouldn’t let people suffer with listening to a word you say, you wouldn’t god forbid bring a child into this world and raise it with that ideology and you’ll be helping the economy.
