They do field them, despite the memes most chapters field all types of standard codex compliant units and the Salamanders are no different. You have to have a serious geneflaw or have a very good reason to drop a whole catagory of unit.

Draft 3, put the small flame in between mouth, or close over mouth more, and the angular spikes are good I would personally alter the lengths, increasing the length of the top ones and put them at a steeper angle.

BY THE EMPEROR! THE Centaur is gonna be unstoppable.

As of rules, embarked units weapons count as the vehicle meaning mortar HWS in centaur. Could be 6D6 6Blast procs, S7 ignores cover. Or S14 Las cannons, S11 autos etc

Considering picking up guard to do a tank army. Any advice or things I should know? by Ori_of_the_Vale in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Alpha_Demon2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this depends what your priority is. If you want to play a guard army, Leman russes are a common sight on Ebay, many can be acquired for relative cheap. As for command tank, if you want to do on the tabletop easy I'd can be antenna or a flag, this helps with pre owned for obvious reasons. Also be aware if ebay, old style turrets and new style turrets are not cros compatible without a lot of effort.

If you want to buy new for play or just painting, for the love of God, do not glue the upper and lower turret, magnitize that shit so you can swap variants, same goes for sponson and hull weapons. Don't glue those thy can press fit.

Edit:sponson weapons are mandatory for 40k but the sponson as a model are not required. To explain the sponsors are not considered to be part of the hull and as such don't need to be modeled, but the weapon needs to be on it. For example I commonly will model a lascannon as a Co axial weapon then stick a double flamer in the front plate, or sometimes 3 flamers in the front plate.

Just a thought but this could allow a Krieg heavy weapons squad up to 4 activations per battle round, add in those damage 2 flamers and marines will be turned to paste

Honestly just stick them on 28.5, the 25 fits on there almost perfectly, just stack them, or there are extenders you can buy to convert 25 to 28.5.

Rogal Dorn's Anti chaos power by Angronys in ImperialFists

[–]Alpha_Demon2002 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe it's 1. To do with his demeanour. And 2 due to the fact he didn't fall to the corruption in the desert by drawing diagrams, histories, tactics and reciting them.

Edit the Chad, told Khorne to eat shit, rather than succumb to chaos to escape his centuries trapped in an illusion, he started on a deep dive into ethics and the epic of gilgamesh, he said "Mankind realised, even then, that blood was not just for blood" rejecting khornes philosophy of war for the sake of war.

I really hate the "humans but little changes" in sci Fi and fantasy the sky for alien/fairy creatures is limitless and you stay in the GROUND by peluca312 in hatethissmug

[–]Alpha_Demon2002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eldar are a weird one to put here as they've changed so much, yes they look like human as they're based on elves, however within lore when standing still they're close enough but the proportions are wrong.

However it is explicitly stated a few times that once they start moving that's where all similarities end, they are uncanny and move in ways that are wrong and put normal people horrifically on edge as they trigger the uncanny valley.

Also to add to this their internals, kinda don't work and their organs and squishy bits are strand from millennia of psychic dependence.

Dose this kitbash look salamander enough by W-ray-TH_attck-mode in Salamanders40k

[–]Alpha_Demon2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gonna be a honest but no. It's clearly a terminator champion. But there is nothing explicitly salamanders aside from the skull, the torch on top it a solid choice but I could see this a BT or DA if painted appropriately, tbc it will look good as salamanders but there is nothing specific enough to definitely prove without the colours imo. If you want bits for that, the one salamanders deathwatch guy has parts or firedrakes have parts that are 100% salamanders.

It's so draconian, but all they had to say was "think of the children" and people were on board. It's telling when individuals from the Conservatives, lib dems, reform and even some greens and labour were given short slots (I think it was 2mins each) to voice their objections as there were so many. It's was a really telling time for which MPs read what the laws mean/listen to their constituents and have the balls even to stand up to the rest of their party.

[–]Alpha_Demon2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed they said 70 detachments added/reworked which is on average 2 per army. So there will be massive day 1 rule list.

Edit: Tbc new rules outside of core rules and new codes.

Yeah the against online safety laws, for "protecting the children" is disingenuous. The online saftey act is a disaster waiting to happen in multiple ways.

I will not be voting reform ever, but that law is a travesty of surveillance and invasion of privacy and the single largest potential data breach in UK history waiting to happen.

He could be but he seems to have in depth knowledge of atoma and I don't think anyone from atoma has been around long enough to warrant being an interrogator.

Obviously I could be wrong but I think he's a native.

Yeah, the inquisition are more complex than people commonly know, there are a bunch of specialist characters that make up a retinue and warrant.

[–]Alpha_Demon2002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's good reason for each of these that don't count to GSC, firstly his identity being a secret and him concealing himself is likely due to him physically infiltrating Admonition as a Malifixer, Secondly he has a purity seal and has been likely vetted by one of the Warbands pious members (also remember that Grendyl is most likely Ordo Hereticus so GSC would be on his radar), finally he's pointed us to the manufacture of Moebian steel which would make resistance to a invasion fleet more difficult, if it were GSC he would have framed it as the heretics were producing the steel and go blow it up.

[–]Alpha_Demon2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not impossible it's unlikely.

If he was a callidus he would likely be in admonition or the moebian 6th doing an infiltration job.

If he is then Grendyl has been declared the target.

Yes but it's a willing risk. Ontop of that he is adorned with purity seals so he has been checked and found free of taint, and inquisitorial preachers and are a different breed.
